Gawain Towler asked to reconsider his position as an MEP candidate

On Saturday Mr Towler ( pictured here with his wife) was summoned by Malcolm Wood to meet the South West selection committee at Lexdrum House.

The meeting was called as complaints have been made by various members in the South West. These complaints concern certain allegations made against Mr Towler.

The committee is extremely concerned that these allegations may resurface at a later date (a Tory MEP has a copy of the original allegations) and damage UKIP’s chances of getting MEPs elected in the South West. It was decided at the meeting to ask Mr Towler to reconsider his position as an MEP candidate. He has a few days in which to make a decision.
