UKIP councillor and chairman resigns from Party

Peter Baden has resigned from UKIP after becoming thoroughly disillusioned with Nigel Farage and the way UKIP has drifted towards autocracy since he became leader. He was also angered by Derek Clark's lack of support for branches in the Region.

Mr Baden was the Chairman of Corby and East Northants. He was also the UKIP councillor for Thrapston Lakes Ward.

Mr Baden now sits as an Independent.

Mr Baden joined UKIP in 1994. He stood for UKIP in three general elections and several local elections. He was known as one of UKIP’s most committed supporters and was well-known in the Corby area as a tireless campaigner against the EU.

Clearly UKIP is in terminal decline. Branches are closing, members have left and our votes are down. Unless Farage and his sycophants on the NEC are removed UKIP is finished.
