Even more from the Wacky World of UKIP

Why UKIP is holding the EU debate back

Interesting article from ‘The Slog’ and worth repeating:

The main thing holding the UK's anti-EU feelings back from a more open expression of the view is that they associate UKIP with a combination of lightweight, negative, eccentric and perhaps even extreme policies - such that David Cameron referred to the Party in the last election as "BNP Lite".

Particularly cited by British voters in a negative sense are the Party's childish internal politics, the 'harsh' aura given off by its Leader Lord Pearson, and the rant of insults aimed at Herman van Rompuy in the EU Parliament by Nigel Farage.

The Slog is not at liberty to describe or name the source of the information, but a senior person involved in its collation told us:

"Basically, UKIP is to the EU as the BNP was to immigration: the very existence of the BNP meant it was a taboo subject. Withdrawal from the EU is coloured in exactly the same way by UKIP's association with madcap ideas. The best ally Brussels has in the UK today is UKIP".

Everyone has an agenda, but we would stress that neither source nor information emanate from a political party. And the General Election results showed clearly that, without UKIP's existence, the Conservative Party would have been elected without the need for a Coalition with the Liberal Democrats. A grass-roots Tory source told us yesterday that "we argued before and throughout the election for a tougher stance on Europe because that is the best way to wipe out UKIP's support".

The information raises more than just a debate about majorities and split votes, however: it is ammunition for the Tory Right who feel the Cameroons botched the election campaign. And it suggests that, without a vigorous embrace of the case against EU membership by a major political party in the UK, real feelings about Brussels will be understated.

Nigel is still employing his wife.

She is paid £30,000 a year and not even Farage’s fellow MEPs know what she does. Farage had originally promised not to employ her but after becoming an MEP he soon changed his mind!

An unsuspecting Kirsten is snapped near the Farage family home

They have a very strange and stormy relationship. Farage commits adultery on a regular basis, Annabelle Fuller being one of his 'regulars'. However, his recent plane crash has somewhat dampened his passion for the opposite sex!

Farage's relationship with his wife has been described by one UKIP MEP “as a series of battles punctuated by the occasional truce”. Is that why Nigel is so interested in First World War battles? Do they remind him of wife and home?

One can only speculate as to why Mrs Farage is willing to be constantly humiliated by a husband determined to chase almost every bit of skirt he can get his hands on. Although we should point out that she did once turn up unannounced at a UKIP function in London after hearing that Fuller was to be Nigel's 'personal guest'. Farage's face when he spotted his unhappy 'other half' was truly a picture to behold!

But perhaps getting £30,000 of taxpayers' money helps to ease Kirsten's pain!

It is hardly surprising that Mike Nattrass is glad to be out of the EFD!

We have already covered this story but here is a report from our friends at New Europe:

The elderly Lega Nord MEP, shows no sign of letting up his fight against many conspiracies. Recently, he asked Daniel Estulin to address a press conference on the Bilderberg Group, a meeting of influential people who either discuss the issues of the day or are a race of twelve foot high lizard men who rule the world, depending on whom you believe.

Borghezio spoke sportively as his guest many many outrageous claims, including that the Bilderberg Group was founded in 1439, not 1954 and were responsible for the Black Death, which they unleashed between 1348 and 1350. Having confronted the Earthly powers, the MEP is now turning his sights towards the heavens. He has just put down a written declaration, no 57/10, asking for "public archives on UFOs to be opened up and for records to be declassified by the Member States, thus providing the public and the mass media with access to the full range of documentation on the subject".

Some governments have opened up the files, notably the British who have also ceased collecting reports as they felt there was no value in them. The French also opened up their files. However, many defence ministries would feel uncomfortable at allowing parliamentarians access to their classified files. Others wonder how this demand fits in with a party and Group that is constantly arguing against what it sees as EU interference in member states.

Borghezio feels there is something to hide as his declaration also states, "many members of the scientific community have been looking into the issue of UFOs and have denounced the systematic covering-up of information on the subject". These disgruntled investigators remain unnamed. the MEP's thoughts are, as ever, for the benefit of humanity as the declaration goes on to say that, "a study of the material collected by the governments of all the Member States would have major scientific and technological spinoffs".

As the EU promotes 'Green jobs' as a way out of the current financial crisis, the Deputy seems to be advocating 'Little Green Men jobs'.

Peter Reeve gets a hostile reception

Peter Reeve - also known as UKIP's Uncle Fester - recently spoke (28/6/10) to a group of UKIPPERS in the West Midlands. Those present made it quite clear that they felt betrayed after learning that Pearson was going to campaign for Tory and Labour candidates in the GE.

Reeve quickly tried to dissociate himself from the mess by criticising Pearson’s support for other parties.

But it was a very different story in the Eastern Region. Indeed, Reeve was so impressed with Pearson that he even circulated an email in which he congratulated the UKIP leader for his election strategy!

The words ‘stinking hypocrite’ do rather spring to mind.

Reeve is currently of some interest to OLAF after the Sunday Times revealed that he was being paid illegally by David Bannerman and Stuart Agnew.
