UKIP Wales scratch their heads

UKIP Wales clearly don't have a clue. They are now bitterly complaining that they are at a loss as to why they didn't win a single seat in the Welsh Assembly. Farage was so convinced that they were going to win that he even attended the count in Newport to bask in the glory when their victory was announced!

'Scratching our heads' are the words now being used by Farage and his sycophants when asked why they bombed in Wales. They can scratch their heads as much as they like. They didn't get a single seat because the voters rejected UKIP in droves despite Farage's promises to the contrary!

And bad leadership and a poorly conducted campaign are the reasons why! John Bufton has failed to provide any real leadership in the region. And that was even before his recent stroke.

The UKIP Wales website is frankly a joke. A quick look at it reveals that there was a gap of NINETEEN DAYS between news reports and THIS was during the middle of an election campaign! What are Bufton's staff doing? And why is he paying them so much when they clearly can't even be bothered to keep the website up to date? His staff allowance is £211,000. So why not employ some staff to run a decent website that actually keeps Welsh UKIPPERS informed of current events? Is that really too much to ask?

UKIP Wales also failed to provide UKIPPERS with details about Bufton's recent illness. Don't they have a right to know if their MEP is unable to continue his duties? Indeed, UKIPPERS only found out about his stroke after Junius and GLW broke the story!

And let us not forget the bad publicity Bufton received after it was revealed that he had been turning up to the EU Parliament every Friday morning to collect his £260 daily allowance and then going home!

Mr Bufton also upset many Welsh UKIPPERS by being rather tight when it came to donating part of his salary to the party.

It later emerged that Bufton had donated just £900 to UKIP Wales during his first year as an MEP. This was despite his promise to donate large sums to the party.

The monthly pre-tax salary of all MEPs within the new statute from July 2009 is €7,665, which is the equivalent of an annual salary of €91,980. So he is hardly broke!

And remember the recent referendum on giving the Welsh Assembly more powers? UKIP Wales were conspicuous in their absence. There was no mention of it on the official UKIP Wales website. Indeed, the website didn't even bothered to publish the final result!

Branches across Wales have collapsed and the membership is at best apathetic or totally disillusioned with the so-called leadership in the region. Many talented members have left in disgust or been driven out. And membership across Wales is down.

Kevin Mahoney - A man without a clue or integrity

So why are the likes of Kevin Mahoney - another Farage arse licker - so surprised at the recent election disaster?

UKIP Wales will never make any headway under such idiots! And please spare us any nonsense about UKIP 'moving forward' in the region! Recent events prove otherwise!

Here is an interesting article from the South Wales Argus:

ASSEMBLY ELECTION: UKIP blame "strategic error" for loss

THE UK Independence Party believes a "strategic error" cost it a South Wales East regional seat.

It was so confident of winning one of the three list seats, that leader Nigel Farage was at the count in Newport on Thursday night.

However, he left disappointed, with a spokesman for the party saying on Friday that members have been left "scratching our heads" as to why candidate David J Rowlands didn't get in.

He said: "The opinion polls and final results are quite different. They had been consistent over a period of months, giving us hope. So, it wasn't an unreasonable belief."

With the party having a Welsh MEP in John Bufton, the spokesman said they saw South Wales East as their best hope of winning a seat, adding: "Wales is the place we're fighting, moving forward".

But, he said the party made a "strategic error" in putting a candidate forward for the regional seat, but not for local seats.

"We don't think the opinion polls were wrong, so we've been left scratchng our heads a bit," he said. "But, it gives us plenty to think about. I think people who vote for one party in the local ballot aren't likely to go for a different one on the regional ballot.

"So, it was perhaps our approach that was wrong and a strategic error we didn't put candidates forward for places like Caerphilly and Newport. But, we know the potential is there as plenty of people voted for us."
