> UKIP: Meet The Sexists!

GUEST POST:
Paul Nuttal MEP, Nigel Farage MEP, and Shneur Odze, Candidate MEP

It all started in 2004 with Godfrey Bloom's remarks about women not cleaning behind the fridge enough. That was followed by (unsubstantiated) allegations of molestation by a young female student.

Since then UKIP has been plagued by allegations of rape at a party conference, a (false) allegation of rape made by UKIP press officer Annabelle Fuller against a Tory MP, and Farage's recent idiotic comments claiming that women who take time off work to have children are "worth less" to City employers.

UKIP just cannot seem to get the relationship between men and women right. Is it because most of them are struggling to come to terms with the fact that we are living in the 21st century? Or is it something more unpalatable?

For now we see that a nasty row has broken out within UKIP over a Member of European Parliament candidate's refusal to shake women's hands due to his religious beliefs.

Shneur Odze, a prospective MEP for the North West of England, has told party members his Orthodox Judaism forbids him from physical contact with women other than his wife. Some party activists say they are offended by his stance, which threatens to alienate half the electorate. But senior officials have rebuked these activists as "rude" and "wrong" for refusing to respect Odze's beliefs.

Fred McGlade, a UKIP regional organiser, has already resigned from his post in protest at the decision to include Odze, 31, on the party's list of top MEP candidates.

He warned UKIP chairman Steve Crowther that he would stand down if Odze was chosen by the party, because of his attitude towards women.

At least one UKIP branch has banned Odze because of what a member described as his "difficult and aggressive behaviour".

Crowther told the Times it was "rude" of McGlade and others to complain about Odze.

He said: "We have a policy of tolerance for and acceptance of people's own religious observance. We do not consider it grounds for complaint. It harms no one."

Ozde, who is fourth on the UKIP's MEP list in the North West, was unavailable to comment.

>More UKIP Lunacy!

A GUEST POSTING:

Well done to Damian Thomson for spotting this one. It is, we are told, a UKIP supporters blog posting. Who posted it, I neither know nor care, but well done to him (or her) for resisting what must have been an overwhelming urge to mention the Bilderbergers.

>See What Happens When You Employ Idiots?

A GUEST POSTING:

An email that was apparently sent out to UKIP members this morning contained a particularly compelling call to arms:

Earth Quack zoom

Do they think the people of London are quackers?

Thanks to @SLATUKIP for putting this one out.

>Farage Prepares Batten's Downfall.

A GUEST POSTING:

And so, now we know!

It appeared odd that the matter of Gerard Batten's bizarre 'Muslim Charter' should be ressurected by the press after almost 4 years. This is, after all, not news. Now we can reveal how it happened. Step forward - the UKIP press office.

Farage wants Batten out, and this is his way  of doing it.

How quick he was to get his attack on Batten into the media. Just 24 hours, not bad at all. But then it was choreographed.

First Bloom, then Batten. Who next? Agnew or Dartmouth, we predict.

>UKIP's Batty Boy Batten Blunders Beyond Belief

A GUEST POSTING:

Gerard Batten MEP caused outrage - a daily act by the party it seems - by demanding that British Muslims sign a commitment to abstain from violence and extremism.

The announcement caused revulsion across the European Parliament, but freshly elected Conservative leader in Brussels, Syed Kamall has replied with the debonair wit he is widely admired for.

Kamall wrote to the UKIP deputy:

'Dear Gerard,

I read with interest your intervention on the subject of Islam, seeking written pledges from Muslims that they will not commit acts of violence or indulge in terrorist rhetoric.

Do you have a form I can sign already? I am anxious to assure you that I have no intention of mounting any attacks on unsuspecting infidels, nor of attempting to radicalise you or anyone else.
If the forms aren't ready yet, perhaps you would take this note as my guarantee? My wife and family would be most reassured to know you will allow me to stay in Britain, especially since I was born here.

Please feel free to drop into my office to discuss this over a cup of tea. I promise you will be entirely safe.

Yours sincerely,

Syed Kamall
Leader of the Conservatives in the European Parliament'

Not the Fuhrer's finest moment, we might say! We didn't realise he could move so fast!
