Nigel Farage & why Martin Haslam had to go.

Nigel’s master stoke at the last UKIP NEC meeting was pure genius. He allows Buster Mottram to propose the BNP deal and then uses it as a smokescreen to remove David Abbott, Eric Edmond and Martin Haslam from the NEC. Of course, Martin’s card was marked from the day he started to question our beloved leader. First of all he advised Nigel that all MEP’s expenditure should be scrutinised . Next he suggested an independent inspection of the Ind Dem Group’s accounts. BIG MISTAKE. The last thing Nigel needs is openness and transparency. Nigel keeps such a tight rein on Ind Dem money that even his fellow MEPs don’t have a clue where it ends up. An audit would have revealed some very interesting payments. For instance, why are you paying X when she is no longer a member of UKIP? Why are you paying Y when you sacked him for playing truant? Nigel knew that Martin had to go. He then approached the pro-EU ‘Independent’ and ‘arranged’ for a reporter to phone Haslam. Martin was caught entirely unawares but being honest repeated what he had said to Nigel. Nigel was then informed that the ‘sting’ had been successful.

Question: Why is the leader of an anti-EU party going to a pro-EU newspaper in order to ‘entrap’ a fellow party member?

At the now infamous NEC meeting Nigel revealed that he approached the Independent in order to ‘test Martin’s loyalty’. By speaking to the paper Martin had betrayed the leader and so must pay for his folly. The nodding donkeys agreed and voted to remove him. I seem to recall Hitler using the same tactic in 1945. That’s the thanks you get for paying Marta’s wages (the first three months) and donating thousands to the party.

Nigel, you make Al Capone look positively human!
