UKIP' Ollygate saga hits the headlines!

Be careful what you wish for!

UKIP's leader wanted mass media coverage. But what was that old saying? Oh yes, you should be careful what you wish for!

Several national newspapers, Channel 4, the BBC and countless websites have all now covered the sacking of Olly Neville as UKIP's youth chairman.

olly neville

You will recall that Olly commited the terrible crime of supporting gay marriage during an interview on BBC's World at One. LINK

This generated the following email response from Steve Crowther - MEP wannabe and Farage sycophant:

"Our policy on Gay Marriage is extremely important to us at this time. We have said specifically and repeatedly that we are opposed to the government’s proposals on this, and that the Prime Minister has got it spectacularly wrong.

“For you to say precisely the opposite, on national radio, as the representative of YI, is absolutely unacceptable, and risks seriously setting back the party’s current growth.”

Mr Neville was then sacked as YI chairman.

Now UKIP makes much of the claim to be libertarian. However, UKIP's libertarianism has always been defined by what Nigel Farage wants. He won't tolerate independent thinking. And if you don't share his narrow minded views and obey his every whim? You're out!

UKIP's libertarianism in relationship to gays is rather strange to say the least. They won't tolerate a member supporting same-sex marriage but will happily tolerate members spreading homophobic views.

Remember Winston McKenzie?

He said that same-sex adoption was child abuse. He added: “It is a violation of a child’s human rights because that child has no opportunity to grow up under normal circumstance.”

And UKIP's response? He was allowed to remain in office. Indeed, he is Nigel's choice to replace Gerard Batten as UKIP's lead MEP candidate in London! LINK

And what UKIP candidate Dr Julia Gasper? She stated that readers of Pink News should be “sectioned” for mental health problems.

UKIP's response? She was allowed to remain a candidate. LINK

Remember Godfrey Bloom's comments to Nikki Sinclaire MEP?  He called her a queer in the EU Parliament. LINK.

UKIP did nothing despite Bloom being censured by the Parliament.

And what of Douglas Denny rant against homosexuals on the UKIP members only forum? He's still on the NEC.

And Roger Helmer MEP ? He once said on Twitter:

Why is it OK for a surgeon to perform a sex-change operation, but not OK for a psychiatrist to try to “turn” a consenting homosexual?

He also described homophobia  a “propaganda device”. He wrote on his blog:
And while we’re mentioning semantic issues, let me point out that the neologism “homophobia” is not so much a word as a political agenda. In psychiatry, a phobia is defined as an irrational fear. I have yet to meet anyone who has an irrational fear of homosexuals, or of homosexuality. So to the extent that the word has any meaning at all, it describes something which simply does not exist.

“Homophobia” is merely a propaganda device designed to denigrate and stigmatise those holding conventional opinions, which have been held by most people through most of recorded history. It is frightening evidence of the way in which political correctness is threatening our freedom.

And yet he was welcomed into UKIP with open arms! Just like Ms Swann! She knows what we mean!

And let us not forget that Nikki Sinclaire won her sexual discrimination case against Farage, Bloom and UKIP. LINK

Of course, UKIP is desparate to spin their way of this mess by claiming that Mr Neville was not sacked for his views on gay marriage. However, Steve Crowther's email - quoted above - proves this to be a lie. We can also confirm that Nigel Farage was the person who ordered his sacking. A senior source in UKIP has told a member of the Junius Team that:

"Nigel said Olly had to go because of his views on gay marriage. Steve had no say in the matter".

We note the Mr Neville has confimed that he has recieved abusive emails from members of UKIP's NEC regarding his views. What lovely people!

We can also confirm that several leading UKIP activists have already resigned in disgust at the treatment of Mr Neville.

On Wednesday morning, YI Yorkshire's chair Arnie Craven and vice chair Christina Annesley both resigned in protest. Annesley defected to UKIP from Conservative Future in early 2012.

Gareth Shanks, a YI elections officer, has tweeted that he had resigned in support. More have threatened to do the same.

In the Independent, Mr Neville said:  "I thought a party that campaigned for democracy and free speech would advocate something similar for its members, especially the youth wing.

"I feel let down and naive. I have always wanted to believe UKIP is the libertarian party it says it is, but with socially conservative candidates getting away with comments that many find abhorrent whilst libertarian members like myself get heavily attacked I can no longer convince myself it truly is."

UKIP now claims that Olly Neville was never elected as UKIP's YI chairman! So was that election all in the minds of those members who voted for him? You really couldn't make this up!

And these chumps want to run the country? Don't make us laugh!

  1. The fact is that Ollie Neville never was elected as Chairman of UKIP's Young Independence. So yes the people who say so (him principally) have got it wrong.
He was only acting as interim chairman, and he was dropped because of his views on open borders. He then went to the press and stirred up a fuss on the emotive "gay" marriage issue.
Of course any political party has to drop members who go off message - that is what a political "Partry" means, It mweans people who all believe in the same politics.
Junius doesn't seem to understand what "libertarian" means. It means having small government - i.e. the opposite of a government that tries to interfere with marriage. Libertarian does not mean that people in the same political party can all work for different aims - that would be nonsense.
In a libertarian country you can have any view and join another parry, consistent with that view. LOGICAL.

  2. What good sense from Roger Helmer. I totally agree wtih everything he said. It's high time that a lot more people spoke out against this fobohomia nonsense. He is a highly intelligent man and this makes me keen to vote for him.
There is far too much LGBT twaddle around. Glad UKIP is there to provide a sane alternative party.

  3. This is a more exact transcript from Pink News of what Dr Julia Gasper actually said:
"Outspoken UKIP city council candidate Dr Julia Gasper has said today that PinkNews.co.uk readers have made ‘anonymous death threats and hysterical accusations of being a murderer’ against her, and that most should be involuntarily committed for psychiatric treatment.
Dr Gasper said she saw similarities between her situation and that of Salman Rushdie, whose 1988 work The Satanic Verses led the Ayatollah of Iran to put a fatwa out for his own execution".
