What role UKIP?

Even in an uncertain world, certain predictions can be made with a high possibility of them being correct. Thursday. May 5th, 2016, will be the likely date for the EU in/out referendum, and that will be a post-Assad era in Syria. British and American troops will be involved in Iraq, and a new settlement will develop with surprising speed. A plea from the government to trust them to protect British interests in Europe will have strong credibility against this success.

A European Monetary Fund (EMF) will be established in London, and that will be the banker of last resort for the Euro, and managed by City nominees. The Greek euro (G.E.) will be a drachma by a new name, but with its own exchange rate. To keep Greece free of Russian involvement, increasingly Greece’s GDP will be supported with NATO contributions. The Americans will not countenance a EU/Greece solution which fails to isolate Greece from Russia.

The Scots will remain more an irritant than a real economic problem. They will be told in strong language that they will not be allowed to continue sharing the pound sterling, but can now be a participant in the eurozone supported by their own deposits with the EMF.

What role in these developments will UKIP have? The prognosis is not good.

A BBC film now in the making, will be focused on Bournemouth. The average UKIP supporter will be represented by Vanessa Coleman, a former convicted criminal who managed two local brothels with a speciman  account of £640,000 pre-tax revenue for just one year. Her business talents are now being used as the local  UKIP fund-raiser. It is claimed that UKIP is both libertarian and pro-business and the BBC intends not to ignore both gifts possessed by this one member. It is to be marketed as a, ‘scripted reality show’. Karl Marx said that history always repeats itself. ‘First as tragedy and then as farce’. This scripted reality show is intended forlovers of farce, and every word will be true

Members of UKIP, many of whom among the older generation who have opposed the European project since the 1959, Stockholm Agreement, have to watch this spectacle in what could be its final chapter. The NEC are fully aware of this Ms Coleman’s involvement. Indeed, Neil Hamilton has visited Bournemouth’s UKIP headquarters and given her enthusiastic support. These whole squalid events have received the endorsement of the most senior members within the party. When Nigel Farage is privy to the concerns of many party activists, but ignores them, can he be surprised when those such Stuart Wheeler deem him the wrong man to lead UKIP’s referendum campaign?

If we do not have saboteurs from within, we certainly have twenty-four carat ignoramuses holding strategic positions. As Cromwell said; ‘I beseech them in the in the name of Christ to depart.

Mark Croucher and the curious case of the Chartered Institute of Journalists

George Bernard Shaw is attributed with the quote that, ‘England and America are one nation, but divided by a common language’.

It could be said that the National Union of Journalists (NUJ)  and t (CIOJ) is one union but divided by a common objective. The first has about has about 36,000, members and assets of some £3.3.million.The CIOJ has about 1700, members and assets in excess of £2.5.million. When a minor organisation has such assets which are the result of historic inheritance, the very nature of that organisation should be carefully examined. What control and purpose has the CIOJ?

They have an orphans fund which was established in 1891. I wonder how many orphans the NIOJ have assisted of late?

They also have a Benevolent Fund for distressed journalists. I am sure that they exist in greater numbers than orphans. They also have an anarchistic view towards the law. They want law kept out of journalism, not withstanding that their president-elect has been a frequent litigant himself.  When the courts, however, ruled against him, he ignored their judgements. That has neither ethical merit or consistency. While the CIOJ  claims to be apolitical, Mr Croucher is a political adviser to UKIP. Again, consistency appears to fall at the first fence.

Their latest crusade has been against the Privy Council. The proposal that general journalistic standards should be founded on a Royal Charter, is anathema to them. By some curious process of reasoning, they believe that such a Charter would compromise their own. That is about as valid as arguing that the Charter granted to the Open University, could challenge that of Oxford. Could they cite an example of one Royal charter compromising that of another? Is it surprising that the CIOJ are becoming subject to closer scrutiny as January 1st 2016 approaches.

Should appliances easily bought in the USA, for computer interrogation, be as equally permissible as phone tapping? There may be some evidence that some CIOJ  support such practices.

Searchlight; a tool of UKIP and the £2.5 million . Will it be used to pay off the incoming President's court fines ?‏

Some time ago, in her predictably professional style, ‘Barboo’ quoted from a previous posting by Mark Croucher, on British Democracy Forum, proclaiming his assiduous pursuit of those who are of interest to Searchlight.

He was not toiling alone, for Jim Carver was doing likewise, and they were sharing their research with ‘Unite Against Fascism’. Mr Carver is now a MEP, and it must be presumed that their work continues. They labour for the political soul of this nation, and Mr Croucher is also a political adviser to UKIP.

Let us reflect on these issues. UKIP in the European Parliament work with numerous people who would not be allowed to be members of UKIP in the United Kingdom. To complicate the matter further, on more than one occasion, the election agent for Nigel Farage MEP, has been Martyn Heale a former district organiser for the National Front. Against that situation, the pretence of being strict when it comes to extremism, is devoid of all credibility and moral content.

What fatuous political advice has Mr Farage been receiving of late! The electoral support for UKIP comes disproportionately from the older population. That group often own property which is liable to appropriation by their respective councils to pay for residential care in old age. In addition, one in four of the over- forties are in receipt of significant financial aid from their elderly parents.

Unemployment, divorce, mortgages and school fees, are some of the reasons for this continuing parental assistance. Once Nigel Farage assured the electorate that an American-style insurance scheme would be necessary for NHS  medical treatment. UKIP’s election campaign ended at that moment. It uniformly terminated all hope of significant electoral success. As one of his political advisers, can we see Mr Croucher’s rebuttal of Mr Farage’s NHS policies.

In Mr Croucher’s presidential role at the Chartered Institute of Journalists, is he anticipating a membership comprising of those journalists who are avidly right-wing, and sympathetic to the Institute’ £2.5 Million nest egg being used for those projects which he has historically been associated?  Or, to pay off his court fines with associated interest ?

'A week is a long time in politics', as we were assured by Harold Wilson in the 1970's. Nigel Farage is living proof of Harold's experience. From being close to despairing only a few days ago, he is now anticipating another two decades of being UKIP's leader. What could be the reasons for this transformation?

UKIP's free lance journalist and political adviser, Mark Croucher, is poised to become the president of the Chartered Institute of Journalists (CIOJ).

Normally that would attract little attention, but this gentleman has a history of being an informer for Searchlight. A free press, while journalists are presided over by a Searchlight functionary, is a precarious balance. Caligula only suggested that he made his horse a consul: no suggestion that he made his chief jester the senior mourner in the castle.

Mark Croucher and the Chartered Institute of Journalists: Questions that must be answered!

January 1st 2016 will be an important day in the history of the Chartered Institute of Journalists (CIOJ). With a royal charter to their credit, and assets currently in excesss of £2.5 million, their new president in January 2016 will be Mark Croucher from UKIP.

This seems to suggest that the CIOJ will be decidedely left-wing, because Anthony Scolefield (UKIP) placed in the public domain that Mark Croucher, UKIP’s Communications Director (2001-2007), vetted on behalf of Searchlight all those who sought membership of UKIP. Presumably, the membership of CIOJ will soon be subject to the same scrutiny? Is this the kind of control which the National Union of Journalists complained about during the Leveson Inquiry? This must be the most direct form of political control that any journalist could be subjected to in a free society.

Having accepted this prestigious post, can it be assumed that the £8,000. costs awarded against Mr Croucher by the Cardiff County Court on March 18thth. 2010, have been paid in full? Clerical matters such as these must be addressed when fame beckons.

Busy Doing Nothing, Nothing The Whole Day Through!

It is interesting to note that the three least productive British MEPs in the European Parliament are all UKIP members.

Tim Aker (allegedly under investigation for activity that many UKIP members would probably consider a capital offence).

A woman named Louise Bours, about whom nothing beyond her friendship with a fellow MEP is known.

And the lowest of the low? That would be Nigel Farage. He is the least productive as well.

Well, we all know that Bill Etheridge is a complete waste, not only of taxpayer's money, but also of perfectly good oxygen. But given the increasing burden of the EU institutions on the taxpayer, could he not have done a bit to help and at least turn off the bloody neon sign in his office window in the European Parliament?

Yes, it is sad but true. Etheridge has a neon sign proclaiming his own name in the window of his Brussels office, and it blazed away, wasting electricity, throughout the Parliament's two week break.

UKIP: Rochester ruminations

I think the political quote of the week comes from the anonymous pundit who reported of Rochester and Strood: "Labour suffer crushing defeat by losing safe Conservative seat to Ukip". But he only just caps Mr Eugenides, who tweets: "Stupid woman tweets photo of white van and flags, resigns. Stupid man calls for compulsory repatriation of legal EU residents, is elected".

Turnout is reported at 50.67 percent, against 51.13 percent at Clacton. Reckless thus came in with 16,867 votes, representing 22.5 percent of the electorate - one in five of the voting public. This is significantly down on Clacton where Carswell took 30.5 percent of the popular vote. We are seeing  yet another failure of the Angry Party to set the election on fire.

That Ukip was going to win, though, has not been in doubt for some time, which means "death camp" Reckless the Repatriater is briefly returned as MP - albeit the indications are that the margin will not be as great as some expect.

His tenure will perhaps last only until the general election. But his move to Ukip will bring no tears from Peter Oborne. He describes the Repatriater as "a brutish and low-grade specimen who ought not have been permitted to stand in the Conservative interest". His defection to Ukip nearly two months ago, Oborne adds, "reflected well on David Cameron's Conservative Party, making it a better place".

Interestingly, Reckless will be addressing the Bruges Group annual conference in London on Saturday. He was invited while he was still a Conservative MP and, if he turns up, will be able to put his views on his change of heart to a discerning audience.

By coincidence, this will be followed on the Monday by Owen Paterson, who is planning a major speech on the EU. Oborne expects Mr Paterson "to develop the argument that Britain's future lies outside Europe", and that may well be the case.

If Mr Paterson goes further and outlines details of how we should go about leaving the EU, he will be ramping up the pressure on UKIP which, after 20 years of existence, is still unable to deliver a coherent (or any) EU exit plan.

And, trailing in the wake of the Guardian, which led the fray in noting the great UKIP policy vacuum, we now see the Telegraph picking up the same thread. "The party can no longer get away with simply behaving like the outsiders of British politics", the paper says, "free to dish out criticism but outraged when it is directed towards them". It adds: "Over the next few months, their policies on every issue should be subjected to the closest possible scrutiny".

This is an interesting observation. We have been known to remark the Ukip supporters, uniquely, seem to believe that their party should be immune from criticism. Now, the Telegraph lends its way to a counter view.

Meanwhile, we are being regaled with rumours of additional Conservative MPs deserting to the policy-free UKIP, maybe attracted by the relief of not having to remember what your party's policies actually are.

However, we are now past the six month cut-off, which means there will be no more by-elections this side of the general. Any MPs who do jump ship and follow the Carswell-Reckless model in resigning their seats are likely to be out in the cold until May – or even longer – reduced to burning their rosettes.

At least, now, we are spared the sight of prancing politicians and prattling pundits giving us the benefit of their ignorance. Instead, we can revel in Mr Kelner's claim that other parties haven't a clue how to beat Ukip – until Monday, that is, when we may get an illustration of how policy trumps vacuum.

For nearly 24 hours, the EU Referendum domain has come under massive denial of service (DOS) attack, from servers bearing Chinese IP addresses. All the action we can take is being taken, but there are limits to what can be done to deal with what is a deliberate, malicious attack, directed specifically at EU Ref.

We hope to be up and running soon, but in the meantime please bear with us.

The guns appear to be out for Farage and his band of nihlists. Yesterday's article in the Mail on Sunday ´Fascists, Felons, and Fanatical Fools' was unusually well researched, ´albeit somewhat overdue, and will have struck a raw nerve. We were very pleased to note that some of the content was lifted from this blog.

We were also delighted to note certain snippets that could only have come from the inside. There are moves afoot to knock staffer Aurelie Laloux from her perch, and we may have just witnessed the opening shots in that civil war.

Farage may or may not have been upset by scathing remarks made about him by one of his group's Italian MEPs. Eleonora Bechis does not hold Nigel Farage in high regard. She calls him ‘a misogynist, homophobe and xenophobe,’ adding that he thinks ‘like a financial speculator’ who has adopted the ideas of the far-Right. ‘His only gift is that he is a great speaker, full of hot air.’ He may, however, be upset by what happens next......

The wife of Nigel Farage yesterday barred The Telegraph from a Ukip fringe meeting instructing MEPs how to secure taxpayer-funded holidays for their friends and supporters.

Kirsten Farage asked this newspaper to leave a fringe meeting outlining an EU scheme that subsidises holidays for political activists to Brussels and Strasbourg.

The European Union spends £25 million on the subsidies for tours arranged through Euro-MPs' offices.

Under the scheme, holiday makers are handed a subsidy of up to £200 in cash if they include a short visit to the European Parliamentary in their itinerary. That money can then be used to pay for hotel rooms, meals and transport.

Ukip's use of the scheme comes despite Mr Farage's party being ostensibly opposed to wasteful spending in Brussels.

Mrs Farage helped organise the briefing for the party's new MEPs, which was held in a suite overlooking the track at Doncaster Racecourse at the party's conference.
"Oh dear," she said as The Telegraph arrived at the event, which had been advertised in the conference schedule handed to delegates. "We didn't really want the press."
"I'd much rather not have any press here. It's an internal event.
"I'm afraid I'm going to have to send you away." She said the meeting was to instruct new MEPs of the "logistics" of booking trips.
Asked about the scheme, she said: "Every MEP is allowed to take visitors' groups over from their constituency or region, or councillors, or business groups they are supporting, or supporting them. It's an EU scheme."

She added: "It's a nice thing to do."

One five-day package advertised on a stand at Ukip conference, organised by a private tour operator, included a visit to the castles of Koblenz, a tour of Strasbourg Cathedral and a boat trip along the Rhine. The visit to the Parliament in Strasbourg lasts two and a half hours. After the EU subsidy, the holiday costs £389 a head.
Another seven-day Ukip tour takes in Verona, Lake Garda, an excursion to Venice and a tour of Vicenza, known as the City of Gold, before driving on to Strasbourg for a short visit to the Parliament.

This photograph, allegedly taken in the late 1970s, appears to show a young Nigel Farage making his second publically recorded political statement (the first being when he was seen by staff at his private school singing Nazi songs).

It must be the most stomach churning display of Nigel Farage's sense of self importance to date.

Following the tragic shooting down of Malaysian airlines flight MH 17, one might have expected a word or two of sympathy from the aspiring Lord Farage. But no, what we got from Farage was a headline 'I was at Schipol airport as passengers checked in for flight MH17'

Well so what? Does this jumped up little man really think that he is so important that this matters to the world?

Some years ago, the Tory MEP Nirj Deva, a man so convinced of his own maginificence that he actually nominated himself for the office of secretary general of the UN, issued a press statement headlined 'Nirj Deva survives sunami'.

There are other similarities between the two egos - like Farage, Deva is desperate to get to the Lords, and rumours are that he will get there in a year or so. Also, amusingly, we are told that Farage's bag carriers in Brussels often refer to him behind his back as 'Nirjel'!

Jake Baynes, who was to run in the Somerset city of Wells at next year's general election, said he felt he was being driven out by local members, including a couple based in nearby Glastonbury who practise alternative healing, which they claim is inspired and guided by angels.

Baynes, a teacher who stood at the last general election for Ukip, said: "I do think if someone is saying you are in touch with the angelic realms I have to call into question their judgment.

"Everyone's got their different beliefs. It's not for me to belittle anyone's beliefs. People have different views. But if Ukip is trying to shake off this fruitcake image thing, we're not doing a good job of it."

Graham Livings, who resigned as Ukip's Wells constituency branch chairman, said: "We've been infiltrated by the Glastonbury occult. I've heard a lot of people say locally they won't be voting for Ukip because of this. It needs to be addressed. Jake was an excellent candidate. I'm standing down in solidarity."

Ssshhh .... Don't tell anybody, but Nigel is lying

Farage's new French colleague caused quite a stir upon joining him, of course, but the line put  out by the EFD about her Front National past was (surprise surprise) highly  misleading. Quite a few reports quoted an EFD press release which said Bergeron; "has admitted that she had joined the party with great hopes but realized that  their philosophy was very different."

This implies  that she joined the FN naively but quickly left it when she discovered what it  believed in.

The idea that any French person would be unaware of the position of the FN is simply ridiculous. However, perhaps she genuinely did not notice and it took her a while to suss it out. Quite a while, in fact, as she joined the FN in 1972, the year it was founded, and became a party organizer within just a few years, at the time which the FN was at its most extremist.

In fact, she must be really stupid not to notice, as her husband was a also senior party member.

 Like her, he joined when the party was created. He was politically active in Lorient in Brittany from 1984, as a candidate in national, regional and cantonal elections. And here's the real give away - he was a member of the Front National's Central Committee from autumn 2007.

So the press release was clearly a deliberate attempt to deceive the UKIP membership, as well as the press and the electorate.

And now we can see how desperate Farage is to be president of a pan-European political group, and how easily he can discard his moral and political values.

The question is, how the new UKIP MEPs feel about all this, and what will they do about it? Will they continue to spout the lie that Bergeron left the FN when she worked out what they were about, or will they admit that they now sit in a political group with one of Europe's longest serving and most established fascists, from one of the EU's dirtiest and mst racist parties? Or are they, to a man and a women, either too scared of Farage to say anything, and too scared to lose their jobs by doing something about it?
