Sadly, this press release is not about how Mike would end Lord Pearson's disastrous reign as UKIP leader!

PRESS RELEASE

UKIP WEST MIDLANDS MEP MIKE NATTRASS

EU looks into dissolving the dead

UKIP West Midlands MEP Mike Nattrass says he is shocked and appalled following news the EU is looking into so-called eco-friendly plans where undertakers could dissolve the dead then flush them into the sewage system.

The MEP says he is horrified the European Commission is currently investigating plans which could see corpses dissolved in caustic solutions in a bid to cut down on the amount of land taken up by graves.

Belgian undertakers have come up with the proposals which could see the placing of people’s deceased loved ones in containers containing salts and water.

Under the process, which is being proposed by the Flemish Association of Undertakers, these containers would then be pressurised and some time later the liquid and mineral ash left over could be flushed into sewage systems or be put into urns and given to loved ones.

From the sewage systems what is left of the deceased could be recycled in water processing plants.

But, Mr Nattrass has this week expressed his dismay over the macabre moves and expressed concerns the process could be implemented across Europe, including in Britain , if the EU gives the plan its backing.

Mr Nattrass said: “I find this plan absolutely abhorrent and sounds like something out of some horrible horror movie.

“The whole thing is totally sickening. What we are talking about here is dissolving the dead and flushing them into the sewage system.

“I am appalled that the European Commission is even looking into this. This disrespectful process of disposing of the dead should not even be considered.

"I would rather they dissolved the European Parliament and flushed that down the sewer where it belongs," he added.

Wrong question, Mike.

The real issue is: if Belgium wants to think about this, what business is it of the EU's?
