UKIP: And yet even more hypocrisy from Nigel Farage!

Remember Farage’s attacks on Belgium? He described it as a 'non-country' and an 'embarrassment'. See LINK & LINK

But how times have changed.

Nigel is now falling over himself to praise Belgian democracy and their decision to ban the burka!

So when Belgium agrees with him, it is a "democracy". But when he chooses so, Belgium is a "non country".

What a mentally impoverished little fool this man is! This is the kind of rhetoric one might expect from the sort of creature who never finished his education, (a fact that he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder about).

On Monday a tired and ill-looking Farage appeared on BBC’s Newsnight to discuss the ban. He was clearly out of his depth and was soon sidelined by a US Islamist feminist who presented a far better argument for banning the burka than the bumbling and intellectually challenged ex-UKIP leader.

Gerard Batten would have been a far better choice. But Farage hates him as Tim will confirm. No place for Gerard on Newsnight!

And what has happened to Lord Pearson. Wasn’t he supposed to be UKIP’s self proclaimed ‘expert’ on Islam?

And remember Van Rompuy (a Belgian) who was described by Farage as having the "charisma of a damp rag", among other insults?

As an obviously puzzled journalist, George Eaton (New Statesman), said at the time, "surely, as an anti-federalist, Farage should be grateful that the EU is led by a political pygmy? Wouldn't the traffic-stopping Tony Blair have been far worse?".

For Mr Eaton, and for Junius, Farage's attack on Van Rompuy was no more than a pre-election stunt.

Clearly he didn’t really mean a word of it because a post-election Farage later pompously attacked EU colleagues for snubbing the Belgian!

From Parliament.Com:

"I am half crocked after the accident yet have still managed to come to Brussels for this meeting"

Nigel Farage

UK Independence Party MEP Nigel Farage has condemned parliament's political top brass for "snubbing" a meeting with EU president Herman Van Rompuy.

Each group leader was invited to attend the meeting at which Van Rompuy will brief group leaders on the outcome of Thursday's EU summit.

Farage will be at the meeting as co-leader of the Europe of Freedom and Democracy group, despite still convalescing from serious injuries from a plane crash in the run up to the recent UK general election.

But EPP leader Joseph Daul and Martin Schulz, of the S&D group, will be absent. Daul will be in Germany while Schulz will remain in Strasbourg.

Their absence prompted Farage to accuse the pair of "snubbing" Van Rompuy.

"It is the first time parliament has been formally involved in the summit process in this way and it must be very embarrassing for Van Rompuy to see these two important figures effectively snubbing him," he said.

"I am half-crocked after the accident yet have still managed to come to Brussels for this meeting."

"I suspect they are staying away because they are sulking at this new, inter-governmental approach to holding EU summits," he added.

"It is small minded and stupid and an insult to Van Rompuy.

"Daul and Schulz are so committed to the community method they cannot see a compliment when it is staring them in the face."

Farage's comments will come as a surprise to some, given his attack in parliament on Van Rompuy when the former Belgium PM addressed members soon after his election as EU president.

The Ukip deputy incurred the wrath of many MEP colleagues when he likened him to a "damp rag".

Farage also said he was "on the road to recovery" and hoped to soon resume his parliamentary work on a permanent basis.

End of article.
