Civil War in UKIP over Nigel Farage's proposed changes to Party Constitution

When we have chosen candidates before and put them in order of preference for the E.U. elections along comes a person whom we have never heard of, who has never stood in an election for the party , who has never slogged round streets leafleting day after day, who was never a member of the party before the sudden parachuting in, etc.etc. to name but one, Kilroy-silk. We have already mentioned that Nigel Farage is seeking to change UKIP's Constitution in order to allow the NEC - controlled by him - final say who gets on the MEP lists. It will also give him the final decision on whether the party joins a pan-European grouping. Our readers may recall that members soundly rejected Farage's previous attempt to turn UKIP into a pan-European party. LINK.

But Farage was never one to let democracy and the will of the membership get in the way of his desire to make even more money on the EU Gravy Train.

It will interest our readers to know that Farage has also been offering his sycophants the chance to stand as MEPs in return for their support over the new constitution, including their total loyalty and acceptance of his control over both the NEC and the Party.

Harry Aldridge - a leading Farage sycophant - has been offered second place in the South East. It will come as surprise to learn that Aldridge is one of the most vocal in support of the new constitution!

Neil Hamilton and Steve Crowther have been offered the two lead positions in the South West. Trevor Colman will be deselected for defying Farage and leaving the EFD. LINK

Steven Woolfe - London Assembly candidate and Farage sycophant - has been promised a lead position on one of the lists. More than one one source has told Junius that Farage wants Woolfe to replace Gerard Batten as lead London MEP candidate. Indeed, the assembly list was altered to ensure that Woolfe became lead candidate despite David Coburn having received the most votes in the internal party elections for the list. Woolfe should have been fourth on the list but Farage - via the NEC - changed it!

And how we laughed when a slightly drunk Farage was witnessed reading the riot act to Woolfe outside a Westminster pub. This concerned Steven's reluctance to stand in the London Assembly elections. Nigel was heard to tell him that standing in the LA elections was essential if he still wanted to become an MEP. Farage also boasted that HE would have the final say on who stands as an MEP after the proposed constitutional changes were approved because, "I will control the lists as I control the NEC".

As we said, Harry Aldridge has been wheeled out in order to persuade the gullable that giving the NEC (meaning Farage) the final say on who stands for UKIP is in the "best interests of the party" as it prevents "rogue candidates" - such as David Bannerman and Marta Andreasen - getting on the lists. What little Harry forgets to mention is that both these "rogue candidates" were Farage's favoured candidates! Indeed, he rigged the lists to ensure that they became MEPs! LINK &; LINK

Fortunately, many UKIPPERS are not going to be fooled by Aldridge or his corrupt master. A large number of  members have already condemned Farage and his cronies over this attempt to turn UKIP into the private plaything of the leader. UKIP is now in involved in a bitter civil war as Mike Nattrass and others lead the No campaign against Farage and his disgusting sycophants.

Herewith some of the paragraphs worth looking at:-
 

3.3 and 3.4 open the door for pan european parties.

4.2.1 gives NEC carte blanche to introduce whatever they like.

4.3.d does this apply to Lord Pearson?

4.4.1 this allows the Party to keep Lord Pearson in the party ranks.

4.9 Yet another paragraph giving undefined power to the NEC.

6.3 deals with elections to the NEC but no mention of regional representation on the NEC.

7.1 gives the Leader the power to 'give political direction....and the development of policies. It should be 'assists in giving political direction'.

12.1.1 gives the NEC unlimited and undefined power concerning selection.

12.1.2 a clumsy way of preventing another Ashley Mote incident.

12.6.7.8 gives power to the NEC and away from the local constituency in the selection of candidates.

12.11 this strengthens up any undertaking by prospective MEPs to belong to a 'grouping' But the make up of such a group is not defined (3.3. and 3.4. would allow for any group 'subject to the right of the Leader and the NEC jointly to decide...).

In other words UKIP MEPs can be forced to belong to another EFD or ID group along with those who are federalists and extremists.

Dear UKIP activists,

Under the new Constitution the selection of candidates for Euro elections and General elections remains with the NEC. Branch or ConstituencynAssociations may only select candidates for Local elections in their area.

I believe that UKIP will not flourish unless Regional and Branch committees have the right to select UKIP candidates for Euro and General elections. Therefore I am voting 'No' to the new Constitution.

This is NOT because I have been denied membership of the approved Party list - I have never applied, and have no plans to do so. It is because UKIP is in danger of becoming a fiefdom. We demand that the EU has democratic legitimacy, but deny local activists the most important task of all - the selection of a local candidate to represent their area. Regional committees should have the final decision on Euro candidates - Branch committees on General election candidates. This is not to deny the NEC the right to create an approved list of candidates, but the list must be advisory only.

You have probably received the latest "Independence" magazine with the new Constitution inside with your ballot papers to vote "yes" or "no".  I have had a long chat to some people within UKIP and I have been persuaded to vote NO and I am urging you to do the same.

I have been alerted that there are clauses in the new constitution which make it easier for UKIP to join a Pan-European party and therefore be given a great deal of "our" money to help the EU cause.

Also the membership vote for the Assembly List was re-jigged so the first 2 voted to the top of the list were put further down.  I am not happy about this because this is not acceptable in a party purporting to be democratic. 

I do hope you will agree with this and vote NO to the new constitution.

The PEPP ballot was conducted after proper debate and the real UKIP Party voted against it quite rightly. I did say before the PEPP debate that we should see the new Constitution before we voted on the PEPP Issue.

We are now in a situation where 90% of our members will not understand what it is all about when they vote. This is not good enough.

More dire election results as UKIP lose council seats ... and UKIP councillor says he will resign over proposed changes to Party Constitution

UKIPPERS were reeling in shock in Staffordshire after the party lost two council seats to Labour and the Conservatives. Such much for Farage's claim that UKIP has the other parties on the run!

Labour ex-minister and former Staffordshire Moorlands MP Charlotte Atkins won a district council seat from UKIP at Leek North on a switch of more than 19% since last May. And Tory Neal Podmore gained Staffordshire's Leek South division. Both seats became vacant after the death of a UKIP councillor who represented them both.

Staffordshire County - Leek South: C 725, Ukip 556, Lab 432, Lib Dem 419, Moorlands Democratic Alliance 336, Ind 192. (June 2009 - Ukip 1766, C 1355, Lib Dem 905, Lab 470, Green 323). C gain from Ukip. Swing 7.4% Ukip to C.

UKIP lose seat. Support drops by 1210 votes!

Farage and the Freedom of the City of London

We note that Farage has become a 'Freeman of the City of London'. UKIP even felt the need to put out a press release crowing about it. LINK

What UKIP forgot to mention was the fact that anyone can become a 'Freeman' by paying £30 and getting a couple of people to sponsor you (who are on the Common Council) and if you don't know any such members, the Chamberlains Court will assist you!

As one senior UKIP contact of the Junius Team has said, "Anyone can become a Freeman of the City after paying £30. Why Nigel felt the need to make a song and a dance about this is beyond me. I could get a couple of my supporters in NAME REMOVED to nominate me but, unlike Nigel,  my ego doesn't need boosting".

Lord Pearson and the French Front National

We were interested to hear that Lord Pearson - former UKIP leader - has been having clandestine talks with the leadership of the French National Front. Would Pearson like to comment on the nature of these talks? We understand that Nigel Farage approved the meeting.

So when can we expect Pearson and Farage to be expelled from UKIP? After all, UKIP has a policy of expelling members who have links to far-right groups in the UK. So why should it be different if those groups are based in other countries?

Farage seeks to change UKIP Constitution

We note that Farage is seeking to change the UKIP Constitution - via control of the NEC - in order to give him the final say on who is selected to stand in the 2014 Euro elections. The changes will also give him the final say on whether UKIP joins a pan-European party. We will be publishing a series of very interesting emails on this tomorrow.

And finally ......

Congratulations to Christopher Hudson on getting elected as a Conservative Suffolk County Councillor. The runners-up were Labour with 804 votes and the Lib Dems with 514. Mr Hudson obtained 1,302 votes. We note that UKIP were unable to field a candidate due to the collapse of the branch representing the area.

Mr Hudson once worked for Jeffrey Titford in the Eastern Region but left UKIP in disgust after he became aware of widespread corruption in the party. Also see: LINK

UKIP: Godfrey Bloom makes drink/drug fueled speech in EU parliament

Drunken louts and a disgrace to British politics

And so once again Bloom brings the Euro-realist movement into disrepute with his drunken and loutish behaviour. Here he can seen making a rambling and incoherent speech during a debate on sport. 

 

The last few seconds of the video are most interesting! Notice the look of disgust and contempt on the face of the female MEP sitting in the front row.

Bloom later admitted to a journalist that he had  indulged in a combination of drink and prescribed drugs before entering the chamber. This is not the first time that Bloom has appeared drunk in the chamber. LINK. But don't expect any disciplinary action to be taken against him. He is protected by Nigel Farage. Indeed, Farage has already assured Bloom that he will continue to be lead Yorkshire MEP candidate in 2014.

Bloom is a truly disgusting man with the morals of an alley cat. That Farage is still willing to protect him speaks volumes for the lack of integrity and ethics of the UKIP leader.

And what does Farage propose to do about UKIP's collapse at the polls? Admit that his leadership has been a failure? Promise to promote talent instead of moronic sycophants? Concede that pouring the majority of party funds into getting MEPs elected at the cost of local and Westminster elections was the wrong decision to make? Fat chance! Farage is now trying to tighten his control of the party by seeking to change the rules in order to give him the final say on who stands for UKIP in the 2014 Euro elections, etc! Little Harry 'Please make me an MEP' Aldridge will be pleased!

WEST MIDLANDS MEP SIGNS OFF ACCOUNTS - ONCE AGAIN!

West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire has this week had her accounts successfully audited for the third year.

This is embarrassing for the Parliament she sits in, as the European Union has failed to get their accounts audited for 17 years.

The Independent MEP made her promise at the time when she took her role that she would be completely transparent when it came to her finances, and she proved this when she was the first MEP to get their accounts scrutinised by auditors. Nikki has also encouraged other MEPs to get their finances to be scrutinised in such a way. 

Nikki said, “In times of financial austerity, it is important that the electorate know where their money is spent. Transparency is my number one aim. With the European Union being unable to audit its accounts for the past 17 years, it is no wonder that the majority of this country questions our membership”.

In fact for the year (1^st January – 31^st December 2011), Nikki subsidised her general expenditure to the tune of £41927.47, which has helped fund her work in the West Midlands region.
