Much was made of he fact that Ken Irvine - a former Tory MEP candidate - had joined UKIP to mastermind their EU campaign.
Sadly the honeymoon period did not last long.
On Friday Mr Irvine was subjected a tirade of drunken abuse by Nigel Farage. For some strange reason Farage blames Mr Irvine for UKIP’s decline.
Perhaps Farage should look in the mirror. The reason for UKIP's decline will then be plain to see!
Not surprisingly Irvine was disgusted by Farage’s behaviour and has now resigned as UKIP’s Campaign Director.
Steve Allison has now replaced him.
