Professor Tim Congdon leaves UKIP

Professor Tim Congdon - one of the UK’s leading economic commentators - is no longer a member of UKIP. His family have also left the Party.

I understand that Farage’s dictatorial leadership has been cited as one of the main reasons for his departure. He is set to rejoin the Tories.

Hi,

it is unfortunate that Farage is doing so much damage to EUkip - I guess that is what happens when you let the performing monkey become the organ grinder.

As many a video shows Farage does have certain light weight skills essential for any barrow boy or performing monkey - the repetitive speech, the harangue with no plausible content, the 90 second sound bite, the smart alec riposte.

But leader he ain't.

EUkip is loaing members of competence and gravitas faster than it can replace them with ambitious neredowells, the gullible and the ill informed.

The increasing image of EUkip with its patronising attitude to colour (see the recent video) and its bully boy tactics moves them ever closer to Searchlight and the BNP in style.

Now we note they are inventing rules on the hoof as with Dr. Abbott and Dr. Edmond - no wonder Lord Pearson, Bob Spink MP (Independent ex Tory), Prof. Tim Congdon etc. are leaving EUkip.

Even with his ego massaged by a night with Jenni and Malcolm at their house praised by his paid sycophants Farage is increasingly making a fool of EUkip.

The dishonesty of the racist style of EUkip under Farage controlled in fear of exposure paying his wife with funds available to EUkip so that she will put up with him and funding a coven of praise singers.

As I predicted a dozen years ago Farage would destroy the party - JUST WATCH! He lacks even the competence of leadership to be plausible and is seen as a corrupt self serving fool by all except those he pays.

Farage has clearly stated he will resign his seat if EUkip gets 10 or less MEPs.

Why not give Britain a chance - resign NOW.

Take with you the liars, cheats, blackmailers, extortionists and bullies, the racist fools and the rest of the staff.

Regards,
Greg L-W.

UKIP had its chance a few years ago. The Tories were clinging to the Blairite centre with as few policies as possible. UKIP had the opportunity to open up a 'second front' with moderate policies to the right of the Tories across a range of issues which would have been popular.

This was essential for UKIP's success: the UK was indeed EUsceptic, but the issue was rarely high on people's list of concerns.

But the UKIP cabal (and that included born again democrat Knapman) knew they weren't up to the intellectual effort that would have been required. They would have had to loosen their control of UKIP. They preferred a small but lucrative pressure group they controlled, rather than a full range political party where they wouldn't be able to keep hold of all the threads - if only because it would be bound to attract people more able than them.

Think of them as a non-violent version of the shadowy Joint Operations Committee who are the real rulers in Zimbabwe. They care naught for the well-being of the Zimbabwean population as long as their perks are safe. Sound familiar?

This opportunity for UKIP has passed. The country will move behind the Tories now in order to oust the increasingly despised Labour, with UKIP a sleazy pressure group fitfully campaigning on an issue very few care enough about to put at the top of their agenda.

Imagine what the party could have been with Richard North leading its research, and policies across a broad range of issues. Imagine UKIP as the only party puncturing the greenies' balloon. UKIP could have been so distinctive.

UKIP could have changed the political landscape. It won't now. It's just a way for mediocre sleazebags to keep their seats on the gravy train.

As you have posted here John, please can you tell be when the last AGM was in your region, prior to the one you held in November 2008.

John Page said...

I shall be happy to answer your question - though it's wholly irrelevant to my own comment - when you tell me what point you are trying to make.

The Pub Consultancy Service said...

Why so evasive John. The reason I ask is simple. If there had been an AGM in January to March 2008, then the one you held breached party rules.

You claimed or at least your wife did, that the reason you held this meeting was because the Chairman of the branch had refused to hold one. I am simply trying to get the chronology correct.

As for Tim Congdon, I note that there has not been an official announcement by said gentleman, and the source of this alleged resignation is GLW.

Nothing to say about my own comment, I notice.

You accuse me of being evasive when you ask me a wholly irrelevant question and I don't answer obediently like some little lapdog.

In any case your accusation of evasion was false - I wrote that I would happily answer your (irrelevant) question when you told me why you were asking it.

Clearly the timings of meetings in a UKIP Region have absolutely nothing to do with what I wrote.

Why so irrelevant, Bob?

And for what it's worth, I wonder now if you are confusing me with John West?

I do apologise, must have got up too early.

Apology accepted, of course.

Hi,

well I remember the dreams and hopes of the Millions that voted for UKIP only to see it destroyed by the personal ambitions and dishonourable behaviour of The Faragista Fan Club as their desperation to hang onto their place at the trough or as with sad folk like The BFM struggled like dogs too often kicked for any praise from anyone from those at the trough.

They have lied, cheated, dissembled, extorted, blackmailed, corrupted, bullied and intimidated in total betrayal of those who worked so hard to get them there - they have betrayed their supporters, they have defielled the party, they have destroyed EUroScepticism and betrayed Britian.

John I largely agree with your summary and it is good to see you still taking an interest, despite EUkip and its vile behaviour, I even still enjoy your Blog ;-)

If only Richard & Heather had published what they know of Farage and Booth, Knapman, Croucher, Denny, Bloom, Titford, Wise et all and forced them out what a force UKIP would now be in defence of these United Kingdoms - rather than seeing such as Tim Condon AND ALL HIS FAMILY driven out by The Faragista Fan Clubs revolting denigration of all that UKIP stood for.

No wonder The Faragista Fan Club needs a team of bully boys to lie and cheat for them - just look at film of Nick Griffin bellicosely swaggering with his shaven bully boys - so very similar in style and aim!

Greg L-W.

God he's of again, GLW how can you make a diatribe out of a simple apology, accepted by the recipient of a wrong.

What are you wittering about?

I am sure those who read this correspondence understood my comments to John and about his views.

Find someone who can explain to you. Someone from planet Mangle who can speak Manglish better than you!

When by the way will you stop being a coward and apologise for your serial iunsubstantiated lies and also for your libel of Paul Wesson?

Ironically, just after I made my point about the policy vacuum, the Tories are accused of closing down politics to protect their increasing poll lead.

For the latest poll see http://www.spectator.co.uk/coffeehouse/3364376/a-20point-lead-for-the-tories.thtml

For Toby non-politics see http://blogs.ft.com/westminster/2009/02/tory-no-go-areas/ and http://timesonline.typepad.com/politics/2009/02/are-the-tories.html

Too late for UKIP, of course.
