On Tuesday, in the EU Parliament UKIP's Godfrey Bloom MEP, made a most outrageous statement:
In the form of a contribution to the Conclusions of the European Council Meeting (24-25 March 2011), Bloom condemned the EU leaders - correctly - for their conduct towards Libya and Gaddafi, mentioning oil interests as one reason. He then stated that the EU had taken no interest in the affairs of Zimbabwe, which, incredibly, he said, was run,
"by a homicidal baboon".Imagine if someone from the BNP had stated this, the person who uttered it would have likely been arrested by now, for contravening the race relations act.
For clearly, after removing the word
'homicidal' this comment from Bloom cannot be taken any other way than a derogatory reference to a black man's physical features.
Now whatever one might think about Mugabe - to use such language against any black man is unforgivable! UKIP leader Nigel Farage, as a matter of urgency, should be asked whether he agrees with his colleague's insult, or whether he will condemn him for it by withdrawing the whip from Mr Bloom!
