Derek Clark UKIP MEP & OLAF: An update

We can now reveal that in December further information on Clark was given to OLAF - the EU's anti-fraud office.

This information concerns money that was passed through the business account of an East Midlands UKIP member. It appears that the East Midlands Regional Committee were not consulted about this practice.

Not that we are suggesting for one minute that this could involve money laundering or anything remotely like it! That is for OLAF and the relevant authorities to decide.

UKIP East Midlands is now in a state of collapse. Apathetic leadership, Clark's TOTAL lack of interest in the branches or preparing for the General Election are all to blame.

Clark's ONLY concern is staying on the EU Gravy Train for another five years. He can't wait to start collecting that FAT EU pension at YOUR expense! That's why he supports giving MORE power to the EU! Even Gerard Batten condemned him for it! See: LINK

Branches across the Region are closing. UKIP Boston - formally one of UKIP's strongest areas - is now all but dead. The BNP has now replaced UKIP in that town as the voice of protest.

The Regional Organiser - Don Ransom - is now a convicted drunk driver - Boston Magistrates Court number URN 32 C80333909. That will hardly help UKIP in the run up to the GE!

Derek Clark faces possible legal action over his alleged misuse of EU funds. Indeed, late last year OLAF officials visited Britain to interview several people in the East Midlands and elsewhere.

Clark has already been the subject of some press interest in the Eastern Region:

Euro MP under investigation by fraud squad

A FRAUD investigation has been launched into the activities of an East Midlands European politician.

Derek Clark was re-elected as an MEP for the East Midlands, covering Derbyshire, following the June 4 elections.

But the United Kingdom Independence Party MEP has been under investigation by the European anti-fraud office, OLAF, for more than a year.

When the Telegraph asked the fraud office what the investigation was about and when it was due to be completed, it said it had no comment to make.

Mr Clark said he was aware of the investigation but had not been informed about what it concerned.

He said: "I know nothing about the details of this. I've not been told by OLAF."

Junius says: Clark is a liar! OLAF has a duty to inform ANY MEP that is under investigation by the team.

A spokesman for UKIP said he thought the investigation related to a former employee but had not heard anything officially through the European anti-fraud team.

He said he felt people were abusing the fraud investigation process.

"If someone makes a complaint, OLAF has to by law have an investigation and give it a case number which is sent to the complainant."

He said that after 18 months of investigations, Mr Clark had yet to be questioned, and knew nothing about the allegations made against him.

"If there was something to find it would have been found."

Mr Clark lives in Northampton. Police there said they were aware of the case, but it was not a police matter.

Don Ransom: UKIP Regional Organiser/Drunk Driver

One of our contacts in Lincolnshire has kindly sent us the following report from The Boston Target.

A LEADING member of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) has been caught drink-driving in Boston.

Donald Ransome, who is UKIP’s East Midlands regional organiser and has also stood unsuccessfully for seats on Boston Borough Council on several occasions, was stopped by police in London Road at about 3.30am on December 12 after his Ford Mondeo car was seen straddling the central line.

He failed a roadside breath test, was arrested and taken to Boston Police Station where he recorded a breathalyser reading of 57 micrograms of alcohol.

This was more than one-and-a-half times the legal limit of 35 micrograms.

Ransome, 52, of Clarke Court, Wyberton, admitted a drink-driving charge when he appeared at Boston Magistrates Court.

He was banned from getting behind the wheel for 16 months, fined £500 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim’s surcharge.

Representing himself in court Ransome, who spearheaded UKIP’s European election campaign in the East Midlands last year, said on the day of the offence he had been at a Christmas party and had "misjudged" how much alcohol he had drunk.

He revealed he had a net weekly income of £800 and agreed to pay his financial penalties within 14 days.

Magistrates were told Ransome had three penalty points on his driving licence from a speeding offence in 2007 but had no previous criminal convictions.

An UKIP spokesman declined to comment on Ransome’s conviction or future with the party.

End of article.

We bet UKIP declined to comment!

One can only speculate on Mrs Sue Ransom's reaction to this!

One can only hope that she does not decide to try to sell the family home behind his back and seek pastures new - again!

But then again over £41,000 a year at the taxpayers expense is a BIG incentive not to go!

So what does UKIP intend to do about Mr Ransom? His position in UKIP is clearly untenable.

We would advise them to tell hapless Don to return to his taxi and start earning an honest wage. He could even start working with honest people!

UKIP News: Alan Sked and yet more resignations!

Alan Sked - founder of UKIP - slams his former party in The Times

Sir, During the greatest financial crisis facing this country since the 1930s, how typical it is of UKIP’s present pathetic leadership that its flagship policy for the forthcoming general election should be to attack the less than 1 per cent of our female population who wear the burka. This is desperate and inane.

If the party is really so obsessed with race, immigration and Islam, it should simply merge with the BNP, which it increasingly resembles. Why have a competition in intolerance? Why not present a united front? After all the political expediency that drives both these anti-EU parties to take up seats in the European Parliament surely dictates such a measure. But let us dismiss any thought that either of them represents “British values”.

I founded UKIP as a tolerant, liberal and democratic party. By 1997 I could already see the far-right writing on the wall and quit as party leader and member. It is a decision that I have never regretted, now least of all. I hope that all decent people will condemn the party as you did in your splendid leading article.

Dr Alan Sked

End of letter.

Alan Sked ALWAYS opposed the idea of UKIP seeking to gain MEPs in the Euro elections. He felt that any UKIP MEPs elected would become tainted by the EU and go native. Surely not!

More recent UKIPPER resignations

UNITED KINGDOM INDEPENDENCE PARTY

MAIDSTONE AND THE WEALD BRANCH

Branch Chairman – John Botting

DATE: 10 Dec 2009

Dear UKIP Constituency Branch Member,

I wish to inform you that from today’s date I will be standing down as both PPC and branch chairman of Maidstone & the Weald. I also wish to state that on Monday 14th December I will be officially resigning my membership of UKIP and leaving the party.

I have been growing more and more dissatisfied over the last few months with what UKIP has been doing as a party. I think the ex-leaders’ decision to stand down a few months before a General Election was a despicable thing to do and has put any chance of UKIP doing well at the next election back months. Also I am very unhappy at the new leader and ex-leaders behaviour in offering the Conservatives a deal behind the party memberships back and offering to disband the party totally unacceptable. Why should I as a PPC for UKIP be wasting my time, effort and money in trying to get elected when the party leadership was talking about disbanding us?

We are now 2 weeks into the new leader being elected and yet (as of today) he still has not named a party chairman or general election campaign director. These are imperative appointments to enable UKIP to focus for a good election campaign and should have been announced in the first 7 days of him winning. UKIP can never do well unless it has a focus and someone driving it forward.

I am also unhappy at the results of the strives I have attempted to make with-in the party at getting the party to campaign for an English Parliament. This is something as equally important for me as it for me to see the UK out of the EU. The campaign I started with another member has really not gone very well. I am convinced that if UKIP came out as a party who claimed the English nation needs a parliament of at least equal powers to that of Scotland the party would take a lot more votes. However that seems to be a distant dream for me.

I also think that UKIP can ill afford to campaign against expenses scandals and the like whilst our own party leader is embroiled in one himself in the House of Lords and several of our MEP’s are being investigated by OLAF, and an ex MEP has been imprisoned for fraud of taxpayers money. Stones and glasshouses comes to mind!

So, with all this in mind I believe that I am better off leaving UKIP and joining a party that does not have any expenses scandals and that campaigns for withdrawal from the EU and also campaigns for fairness for England and a full English Parliament. That party is the English Democrats.

Yours faithfully

John Botting

PS I am happy to talk to anyone about my decision to leave UKIP and join the English Democrats.

End of letter.

And let us not forget the branch chairman and PPC for Ashford Kent who resigned from the party on Monday!

The person in question is Paul Andrews. He reasons for leaving are varied but include frustration at the failure of UKIP's leadership and their TOTAL lack of interest in preparing for the General Election in the SE.

Former UKIP activist to stand against Farage in Buckingham!

Geoff Howard is a former UKIP member, councillor and activist. He is also an author.

He has formally announced his intention to stand against Farage in the General Election.

Here are the reasons why:

It is my intention to stand as an Independent against Nigel Farage and John Bercow in the Buckingham constituency in the forthcoming General Election, I aim to stand as a: LEAVE-THE-EU - ALLIANCE candidate.

I have attached a copy of my personal details that I provided to the 'Buckingham and Winslow Advertiser'. The newspaper published an article containing the majority of this information in their newspaper dated Friday 25th December 2009.

You asked me to provide you with comments relating to my experiences with Nigel Farage and UKIP. Here they are!

Immediately before joining UKIP I was Chairman of Slough Conservative Party and I was a very experienced Slough Borough Councillor. I was already the Cabinet Member responsible for Resources in a coalition administration made up of Conservatives, Liberals, Liberal Democrats, and Independents. We were all united against Labour.

When I joined UKIP I was introduced to Nigel Farage, so he was aware of who I was. At that time he was not Leader of UKIP.

When I 'crossed the floor' to become a UKIP councillor I retained my Cabinet position. For three years, until May 2008, I was the most senior UKIP Councillor in the country but heard nothing from nobody in UKIP in relation to this. My vast experience in Local Government was not utilised one iota. I was never contacted by Nigel Farage which, to my mind, showed extremely poor leadership qualities, especially as we were both in the South-East region of UKIP.

I wrote articles to the UKIP magazine in relation to my prominent role as a UKIP Councillor in taking on the Government over Slough Borough Council issues relating to population and business rates rebates. None of these articles were published.

I stood for UKIP in the Slough Constituency in the 2005 General Election. I used thousands of pounds of my own money to finance my campaign and I achieved the highest percentage votes of all UKIP candidates in Berkshire. I heard not a word from Nigel Farage which again, to my mind, showed extremely poor leadership qualities.

I attended a UKIP South-West Spring Conference in Exeter a couple of years ago and rented a stall from which I sold copies of a synopsis of a book that I have written on Asylum and Immigration. I was standing and applauding Nigel Farage's speech to Conference and, as he descended from the stage and walked through the hall, he passed literally a few feet away from me at the back of the hall and was directly in my view. He could not have failed to recognise me but he ignored me. He obviously knew that I was attending the Conference and had rented a stall, but he did not make an appearance at my stall or any others, and showed no interest in them. Again, to my mind, his attitude demonstrated extremely poor leadership qualities.

I was Chairman of the Slough and Windsor Branch of UKIP for four years. I had no recognition of this from NIgel Farage, again showing a lack of leadership qualities.

I was one of the guest speakers in Woodbridge, Suffolk at a UKIP conference on Immigration organised by John West. Nigel Farage attended in the afternoon to give a closing speech but never thanked myself or, to my knowledge, other guest speakers personally. I believe this was another example of extremely poor leadership qualities.

My knowledge on Asylum and Immigration was never utilised by UKIP, even though Gerald Batten, spokesperson for UKIP on Immigration, attended the conference on Immigration in Woodbridge.

I applied to stand as a prospective UKIP MEP for the London Region for last year's European Elections. I applied to London because I believed that my vast experience in Slough was of more use to London than to the South-East region. The selection meeting in London, before members, was well organised and I had no objections in the way it was conducted. However, an ugly situation arose during the balloting of members, in that Gerard Batten stated that he had evidence that one of the candidates had obtained a membership list and was actively seeking votes for himself: this was against the rules. Gerald Batten e-mailed me and the other candidates to inform us that he had lodged an objection to the actions of the rogue candidate and wanted disciplinary action taken against him. I heard nothing further on this matter.

Presumably, because Gerard Batten achieved No 1 on the list he was no longer bothered. It would appear that no disciplinary action was taken against the rogue candidate as he came No 3 on the list, behind Marta Andreasen. However, when she opted to take the No 2 position in the South-East region, the rogue candidate became No 2 on the list. Presumably, therefore, if anything happens to Gerald Batten then he would automatically become UKIP's MEP for London.

I was thoroughly frustrated with the leadership of UKIP by this time and stood as an Independent for the Jury Team in the European Elections.

I have come to the conclusion that UKIP is a one-issue (anti-EU) party and will never be anything else. When I joined UKIP I was encouraged by soundbites by Farage and others within the party that UKIP was striving to achieve recognition at Local Government and National Government level. I now firmly believe that all this is a sham, and that UKIP represents itself at local and national level merely to keep the party in the minds of people ready for the next European Elections.

I would greatly appreciate it if you are able to help me in any way in my fight against Farage and Bercow.

Best Wishes

Geoff Howard

(known as Geoff Howard)

Standing as an Independent LEAVE THE EU Alliance Candidate – I have been a member of the Conservative Party and of UKIP. I became disillusioned with both parties because of their hypocrisy and the number of dishonest M.P.’s/M.E. P.’s in their ranks who have ripped off the public in relation to expenses.

I live in Eton Wick, Windsor, only an hour’s drive from Buckingham

Age - 61 years

Former Head of Department in a Buckinghamshire Secondary School.

Played rugby for Buckinghamshire.

Own business for 24 years in Slough.

Serving Magistrate for 16 years - Chair of the Bench for Adult and Youth Courts.

Slough Borough Councillor for 14 years.

Cabinet Member for Resources for 4 years in a Coalition Administration of Tories, Liberals, Liberal Democrats, and Independents.

Elected Councillor responsible for suing the Government in the High Court for a ‘Rebate of Business Rates’. The Council won the case and recovered almost £1 million.

Elected Councillor responsible for a ‘Population Campaign’ against the Government in relation to a severe shortage of Government grant monies for Slough. I attended a number of meetings at the House of Commons with Government ministers in relation to this matter.

Chair of Governors of a primary school in Slough.

Member of the Governing Body of Slough Grammar School.

Chair of the Management Committee of a youth club in Slough.

Former Chairman of a Hellenic League Football Team.

A Vice-Chairman of Slough Rugby Club.

Member of Rotary for over 20 years – Helping to raise money for cancer charities and other charities.

I sued Thames Water very recently (Daily Mail 21st October 2009) for harassment and won damages from them in Court. I am possibly the first person in the country to achieve such a result against a utilities company.

End of statement.

Mr Howard offered his full support to UKIP but was met with indifference and hostility from Farage and his clique. Is it any wonder he gave up and walked away?

Yet again another talented UKIPPER was driven out both by Farage's contempt for the membership and his TOTAL lack of interest in promoting true talent within UKIP.

Farage cannot be allowed to stand against Bercow unchallenged. For Farage to contest the seat as an anti-sleaze candidate is the height of hypocrisy.

The man is corrupt. The words decency, integrity and honesty are alien to Farage and his clique.

Please give Mr Howard your full support. He can be reached via GLW or this blog. All offers of help and support will be passed on to him.

UKIP: The Nikkigate affair

The Nikkigate affair is generating a lot of interest.

From The Birmingham Post:

West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire faces expulsion from UKIP

UKIP’s triumphant election of two West Midlands MEPs last year is descending into farce as the party considers whether to expel one of the victorious candidates.

MEPs will meet in Brussels next week to decide whether to throw out Nikki Sinclaire.

She was elected as UKIP’s second West Midlands MEP last June in a major coup for the party. It meant UKIP beat both Labour and the Liberal Democrats, which each returned only one MEP in the region.

But the celebrations were short-lived, and UKIP MEPs will meet in Brussels on Tuesday to consider expelling her from the party after her relationship with former UKIP leader Nigel Farage broke down.

She has already quit the eurosceptic group her UKIP colleagues have joined in the European Parliament, called the Europe of Freedom and Democracy group, which includes right-wing parties from across the EU.

Ms Sinclaire said in her resignation letter: “I have found it increasingly difficult to justify sitting alongside one or two of the European parties within the Europe of Freedom and Democracy Group who have a variety of extremist views which includes anti-Semitism, violence and the espousal of a single European policy on immigration.”

In response, UKIP’s national executive have sacked her as the party’s general election candidate in Meriden, Warwickshire, where she was due to stand against sitting Conservative MP Caroline Spelman.

And she now faces the threat of being expelled from the UKIP group in the European Parliament, forcing her to sit as an independent.

She said: “I wish to continue as a UKIP MEP and be a UKIP candidate in the general election.

“But that is a matter for the party to decide. If they remove my status as a UKIP MEP than in effect they will have thrown me out of the party.

“Whatever happens, I will continue to be an MEP and sit as an independent if I have to.

“I am not choosing to leave UKIP and I want to continue doing what I was elected to do, which is represent the West Midlands.”

The Europe of Freedom and Democracy group was formed in Strasbourg after last summer’s euro-elections, in which Nikki Sinclaire was one of 13 UKIP members who held or won seats.

Since then Mr Farage has stepped down from the party leadership to concentrate on fighting John Bercow’s Buckingham seat in the forthcoming general election, hoping to become UKIP’s first Westminster MP. Meanwhile, he remains an MEP and leader of Ukip’s members in Strasbourg.

Labour’s West Midlands MEP Michael Cashman said: “My sympathies go to Nikki Sinclaire. No-one should have to suffer such Neanderthal discrimination in the 21st century. However it’s proof that if you scrape away the gloss from these extremists they remain the same terrible bigots. They have never voted for equality or stood up for the rights of minorities.

“Out of her mouth, she condemns her British political colleagues who should have supported her and not undermined her.”

Ms Sinclaire surprised Ukip in 2004 when she “outed” herself as a lesbian in the gay newspaper The Pink Paper. She also claimed there was a “sizeable” secret, homosexual membership of UKIP.

At the time she said she wanted to show that UKIP was not an “anti-gay”, intolerant party.

Paul Nuttall, Chairman of UKIP’s National Executive Committee, said: “The National Executive Committee of the UK Independence Party is saddened and disappointed at the news that Nikki Sinclaire MEP has chosen to leave UKIP’s group in the European Parliament. UKIP leads the 31-strong ‘Europe of Freedom and Democracy Group’, which is the only true Eurosceptic grouping in the European Parliament.

“All UKIP candidates signed a declaration that they would agree to join the Group, and pool our resources in order to continue our fight against the European Union. Nikki Sinclaire has dishonoured that pledge. In a separate breach of party discipline, Ms. Sinclaire also failed to declare other relevant issues to the interview panel when she was selected as a UKIP candidate.

“As a consequence of these actions, the National Executive Committee took the decision on 11 January 2010 that Ms Sinclaire will not be permitted to stand as a UKIP candidate at future elections.”

From the Conservative blog:

Don’t confuse party loyalty with being a self serving sycophant by Yaslin Akgun

Ever since I entered the world of politics formally I’ve noticed an attitude which I utterly despise. It manifests itself in various forms but boils down to one thing. Self serving pricks. Life is full of them but the area where life rewards them is politics. This article will do me no favours, people that I know will be paranoid that I’m talking about them specifically, some rightfully some wrongfully.

Tribal politics sickens me. Labour for life, Tories till I die, Lib Dem till the end etc. Bunch of hooligans. Political hooliganism. I’ve seen it in all the parties. Their party is the only option, they do no wrong and other parties are evil and only do wrong anything else is non existent. What irritates me is when I speak out about this sort of stuff I’m accused and slandered with comments like that I’m unloyal.

Of course if these sort of people want to offer their version of loyalty to me then disloyal I certainly am. My loyalty to a political party is conditional, not unconditional. The day I believe that my party isn’t serving the interests of the people at heart is the day I turn my back on that party. Simple. Country before party. I’m no party till I die, this isn’t football. This is people’s lives and well beings. There are so many people out there whose loyalty lies at heart and exclusively with their party and what worries me the most is seeing young people groomed to be this way.

A great example of someone in politics who puts country before party, a slogan incidentally which her party claims to do, is Nikki Sinclaire MEP. Earlier this week Nikki Sinclaire resigned from her party’s European group; Europe of Freedom & Democracy. I’m not going to waste time going in to why she resigned, the reason is obvious once you look in to who is part of this group; Liga Nord et al. Islamophobes, homophobes, anti-semites and xenophobes.

Nikki Sinclaire stood up to this and resigned from the group, knowing very well that she would be maligned by her own party. I applaud her for this. She’s one of the few politicians out there that exist to serve the people, not her own party and certainly not herself.

People in politics need to remember that they are there to serve the people. It’s almost ironic to note that the ones who need be reminded the most of this, are the same ones making similar comments about bankers or the police.

The purpose of this article is to highlight the level of sycophantism going on in politics, especially with younger members. I hope on reading this you’ll be able to identify these people. Distance yourself from them. Unless you have a thing for self serving pricks.

End of statement. To see the original: LINK

Mr Akgun used to be a member of UKIP's Young Independence. He was formally a staunch supporter of Nigel Farage. He woke up!

And from The Express:

UKIP MEP quits Eurosceptic group

UK Independence Party MEP Nikki Sinclaire is quitting the eurosceptic group her Ukip colleagues have joined in the European Parliament - citing the breakdown of her relationship with former Ukip leader Nigel Farage.

A resignation letter on her website also attacks the "variety of extremist views" of other right-wing parties in the Europe of Freedom and Democracy grouping - including "anti-Semitism, violence and the espousal of a single European policy on immigration".

The EFD group was formed in Strasbourg after last summer's euro-elections, in which Nikki Sinclaire was one of 13 Ukip members who held or won seats.

Since then Mr Farage has stepped down from the party leadership to concentrate on fighting John Bercow's Buckingham seat in the forthcoming general election, hoping to become Ukip's first Westminster MP. Meanwhile, he remains an MEP and leader of Ukip's members in Strasbourg.

Ms Sinclaire said she would still support Mr Farage in his Westminster bid, because of its importance to the party.

And she insists she has not left Ukip - just moved out of the EFD group, of which Ukip is one of nine national political parties, to sit with the so-called "non-attached" MEPs who have joined no particular grouping.

Her letter says she will leave the EFD on January 18: "I have decided to move to this non-attached group as I have found it increasingly difficult to justify sitting alongside one or two of the European parties within the EFD group who have a variety of extremist views which includes anti-Semitism, violence and the espousal of a single European policy on immigration."

She names in particular Liga Nord, the right-wing party which is part of the Italian governing coalition. Liga Nord and Ukip are the two biggest factions in the EFD and hold the EFD presidency jointly.

On Mr Farage, Ms Sinclaire's letter says: "My working relationship and trust with EFD co-president, Nigel Farage has broken down since his personal admittance to me recently that he wished I had not been elected. The comment 'I wish I had only 12 not 13 MEPs' was made to many people in the aftermath of the European elections. I have found this personal animosity difficult to work with."

And finally from Dr Edmond's blog:

Back from Zermatt to the same old UKIP & the dog that does not bark

I returned yestreen from a weeks ski-ing at Zermatt with its spectacular views of the Matterhorn but it was as if I had never been away. Nikki has left Farage's sordid EDP group and is immediately smeared by Farage as sitting with the BNP's Nick Griffin, the usual knee jerk response from the Fuerher. Anyone who disagrees with Farage is so smeared with the BNP label plus a bit or their irrelevant personal history, in this case Nikki's bankruptcy, thrown in for an extra bit of character assassination. All done on national TV with Nikki not there to defend herself!

I then switched on the Politics show today to see the great media star making very heavy weather of defending UKIP's latest policy viz ban the face covering by Islamic women in public places in a debate with the young female Islamic leader of the Respect party. The policy is perfectly defensible on security and legal identification grounds but the great media star got himself ambushed. Farage never learns.

But where was our great new leader Lord P? Could he have been snow bound on Rannoch Moor? He is usually very strong on such Islamic issues so why was he not there defending UKIP's new Islamic policy initiative?

Come to think of it what part did Lord P play in the Nuttall announced UKIP NEC decision to deselect Nikki as a UKIP candidate in future elections. When and where was this NEC meeting held. Was Lord P there? Was Lord P even consulted?

Cabal antics are all very well in the Farage worshipping NEC but when they start to leak out into a General Election sensitized media they will be portrayed for what they are, sordid, self serving, idiotic actions of a talentless group of sycophants who have no integrity or moral credibility whatsoever.

UKIP Regional Organiser found guilty of drink driving

It just gets worse!

Don Ransom - Derek Clark's hapless Regional Organiser - has been found guilty of drink driving. He admitted the charge at Boston Magistrates Court this week.

Mr Ransom - pictured above - was find £500, plus £85 costs. He was also banned from driving for 16 months and had to pay a £15 victim surcharge.

Oh dear! That won't help UKIP's electoral chances or reputation in the East Midlands!

Not good. An RO who can't drive is not exactly going to be of much use in the General Election.

Not that we can blame him for hitting the bottle. UKIP's problems at the moment are enough to turn anyone to drink. Just ask Nigel!

Or was the thought of Derek Clark being under investigation by OLAF for alleged misuse of EU funds just too much for the poor man to take?

Derek Clark OLAF Case Number: D/007/033/04.09.08

Derek Clark OLAF Investigation Number: DD/FD-D2008.A1/7133/OF/2008/0240

So can we expect Mr Ransom to face a disciplinary hearing for bringing the party into disrepute?

Thought not!

His political career is clearly over - not that he had much of one in the first place.

We would advise Mr Ransom to ask his wife for a job at their local Tesco store. We hear they are looking for a cleaner.

Would Mrs Ransom be willing to put in a word for him with her boss? And how is that Tesco account, Mrs Ransom?

Farage's fascist friends in the EFD. And they wonder why Nikki left!

True Finns.

Timo Soini, leader of the Finnish Perussuomalaiset (True Finns) Party, and rather oddly a keen supporter of Millwall F.C, should add a little spice to Farage's group.

He wants to restrict entry to Finland for foreigners, and calls for legislation to force those already there to integrate. Describing itself as "populist", the True Finns has its roots in agrarian politics, is anti-capitalist, believing that entrepreneurship hampers bureaucracy. The party attracts a great deal of support from those who would have previously voted for the SDP or the Left Alliance. Its mix of "back to the soil" agrarianism, populism, and militaristic nationalism has led many observers to categorise the party as National Socialist. Indeed, in keeping with Nazi tradition, Soini was a corporal in the army.

In April 2009, all the leaders of Finland's political parties signed a declaration condemning racism. Only Soini refused to sign. The party also believes homosexuality to be an "aberration". Finnish celebrity Teuvo Loman complained to police about a Facebook site, called "Lets beat Teuvo Straight", set up by a True Finns candidate for Urjala municipal council elections. The site allegedly promoted violence against Loman.

In December 2006, True Finn councillor Jussi Halla-aho caused a controversy when he published the following comments as part of a discussion about immigrants and rape: “The number of rapes will increase in any case. Therefore, as more and more women will undoubtedly get raped, I sincerely hope that at least the right women, the green-leftist reformers and their voters, will find themselves in the clutches of the rapists, who randomly select their victims. Rather them than anyone else. With people like that nothing else works, except when their own multiculturalist views turn against them.” Halla-aho, who describes asylum seekers as "parasites", has been charged with hate crimes.

Another interesting True Finn politician, is the former wrestler and parliamentarian Tony "the Viking" Halme. In 2004, he received a four-month suspended prison sentence and was ordered to pay fines totalling 80 income-linked "day-fines" - amounting to EUR 4,480 - for criminal offences that were uncovered in connection with a drunken firearms violation episode in the summer of 2003.

Other charges brought against Halme included behaviour likely to cause danger, smuggling, possession of imported goods knowing them to be illegal, and drug use. The latter is ironic, as he has called for drug offenders to be sent to Russian prisons, where they can be dealt with in a more cost effective manner. The day after he was elected to parliament he caused a stir by attacking President Tarja Halonen as a "Lesbian". (Halonen had been a champion for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans-Gender rights in her country). In 2006 Halme was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol. In that same year he was involuntarily committed to a mental hospital.

The True Finns will sit well with the populist Lega Nord, the Italian party expelled from the Independence & Democracy Group by Farage following allegations of racist behaviour. That party is partly defined by its homophobia.

Lega Nord.

Giancarlo Gentilini, Lega Nord's deputy mayor of Treviso called in 2007 for the "ethnic cleansing" of homosexuals." I will immediately give orders to my forces so that they can carry out an ethnic cleansing of faggots," he told a local television station. "The faggots must go to other cities where they are welcome. Here in Treviso there is no chance for faggots or the like."

In the same year he taunted Pecoraro Scanio, Italy's Minister of the Environment and an open bisexual, by saying: "In Gorgo, a woman was raped with a chisel in the back and in the front. I say to Pecoraro Scanio that I want the same thing happens to his mother and his sister."

Pro-Federalist Lega Nord – the party's constitution says that the party will end its political activity when federalism is obtained - are no strangers to racially motivated violence: indeed, MEP Mario Borghezio was fined in 1993 for beating a 12 year old Moroccan child. In 2005, whilst sitting as an MEP, he was found guilty of setting fire to the belongings of immigrants under a railway bridge in Turin, during a vigilante raid. In September 2007 he was arrested by Belgian police for his part in an anti-Islamic demonstration.

The former leader of Lega Nord, Umberto Bossi, an MEP in the last parliament, was convicted of incitement to violence in 1998. He received a one-year suspended prison sentence. He had previously received a conviction for taking a 200 million bribe. In 2003 he described Africans as "Bingo-Bongos", and suggested that the Italian navy should open fire on boats carrying refugees.

Notorious holocaust denier Father Floriano Abrahamowicz is considered to be the "unofficial Chaplain" of Lega Nord. He told an Italian newspaper: "I know the gas chambers existed... but I don't know if anyone was killed in them. I know that, in addition to the official version, there is another version..." He has also been a vocal supporter of Erich Priebke, the German SS officer convicted of war crimes for a 1944 massacre in Rome, extradited to Italy from Argentina and currently living under house arrest.

The Lega has its own militant faction, the so-called Green shirts.

Morten Messerschmidt: Heil Hitler, & some embarrassing songs.

The Danish People's Party (DPP), rejected by the British Conservatives, has been condemned by the Paris based European Jewish Congress for its approach to the question of immigration. It has also been accused of Islamophobia.

Morten Messerchmidt is one of the DPP's new MEPs. In 2002 he was sentenced to prison for racially motivated offences. In April 2007 he was reported to have been drunk in a restaurant in Copenhagen, and was seen "Heiling Hitler". Messerchmidt subsequently admitted singing Nazi songs at the restaurant. The incident caused him to temporarily resign from his position in the government.

Messerchmidt is a former assistant to Mogens Camre MEP, himself reported to the police for possible violations of anti-racism legislation in 2007.

And Farage has the nerve to condemn the BNP!

And what about the odious Nuttall? He can't bear to be in the same room as Nick Griffin and yet is quite happy to sit with these fascists! Hypocrite!
