UKIP: Check out the Sunday Times

Get The Sunday Times for more on ELCOM, Pearson and Farage.

Pearson has been telling lies again.

Farage has failed to impress Mr A. Gill. And will someone please buy Farage some mouthwash?

More tomorrow.

UKIP's Marta Andreasen: Is she having a laugh?

We read with amusement the report that Marta Andersen - UKIP MEP and EU reformist - wants to become head of OLAF.

I will make OLAF investigations truly independent and efficient. If the EU wants to send a signal to the taxpayers of Europe that they want to stop abuse and financial irregularities then what better way to show this by hiring me for the job?

Today I challenge them to hire a straight shooter, and await their response.

So when can we expect her to give up her bedroom in Lord Pearson’s London flat?

And when will she turn her back on the electors of South East England who she currently represents from her Barcelona flat?

Andreasen is a liar, a fraud and has no interest in British independence from the EU.

Consider these facts:

In her book 'Brussels laid bare' she relates her experiences as the EU's chief accountant. This is a lie. She was never the chief accountant of the EU. There is no such post.

Her claim to have been dismissed from the Commission because she insisted on proper accounting is nonsense.

She was actually dismissed for failing he to produce a report - despite reminders - on how best to combat fraud in the EU.

She was sacked by the Commission after it was discovered that she had deceived them by not mentioning her suspension without pay from the OECD - the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.

She was suspended from the OECD after allegations of racism were made against her.

She does not live in the UK.

She does not pay UK taxes.

She is a supporter of the EU. She considers herself an ‘EU reformist’.

She has absolutely no loyalty to Britain or her constituents in the South East. Her knowledge of the region is almost nil. For instance, she didn’t even know that Canterbury was in Kent!

UKIP has an ethnic Danish MEP, who was born in Argentina, currently holds Spanish citizenship and lives in Barcelona. She also employs a Dutch researcher in Brussels who doesn't yet visit the UK on her behalf. So much for Farage's claim that UKIP supports British jobs for British workers!

One can only wonder why Farage was unable to find a suitable British born candidate with at least some working knowledge of the area they wished to represent?

She only expressed an interest in UKIP or it’s policies after three other parties - the Tories included - rejected her attempts to become one of their MEP candidates.

It should be remembered that Nigel Farage contemptuously ignored UKIP’s own selection rules so that Andreasen could become a UKIP candidate.

Lynnda Robson - Gerard Batten’s political assistant - made a formal complaint about this to both Christopher Gill and UKIP’s NEC.

In this complaint it was pointed out that Andreasen was ineligible to stand as a UKIP MEP candidate for the following reasons:

She was not a UK resident.
She was not a fully paid-up member of UKIP.
She could not get a CRB check.
Her proposer also proposed someone else.
She was not on the UK electoral Register and had no intention of mentioning that she was standing in two different regions.

Ms Robson’s complaint was rejected. She later took UKIP to court over this issue. UKIP’s leadership agreed to settle with her out of court.

Farage claims that getting Andreasen into OLAF will ensure ‘fair play’ for those UKIP MEPs accused of fraud!

The cynics would suggest that Farage wants to get Marta into OLAF so she can cover up evidence of UKIP fraud!

Andreasen has used the members of UKIP. She was never interested in getting Britain out of the EU.

Her only motivation is personal gain. Remember when she resigned as UKIP Treasurer after she was told by the odious Nuttall that she would no longer be paid for doing the job? See: LINK

All those who pointed out that Andreasen was a political prostitute have been proved right.

And who pushed for her to become an MEP? Nigel Farage.

And who supplied her with a UK address so she could stand as a UKIP candidate? Lord Pearson.

But at least Andreasen has no chance of becoming head of OLAF. Her atrocious employment record would be enough to discourage any employer with an ounce of sense from taking her on.

Apart from UKIP.

UKIP PPC claims McCann's murdered their own daughter

Helene Davies-Green - UKIP PPC for Cambridge South - is at the centre of yet another UKIP scandal.

She took part in a campaign blaming Madeleine McCann's disappearance on her parents.

Ms Davies-Green delivered leaflets entitled "Ten Reasons Why Madeleine Was Not Abducted" to the McCann's neighbours.

The leaflet was produced by the anti-McCann Madeleine Foundation, of which she is a committee member.

Ms Davies-Green's husband Grenville is the group's chairman.

The leaflet blames the McCann's for the murder of their daughter.

A UKIP spokesman said last night: "Whilst having every sympathy with the McCanns and their predicament, UKIP believes in the freedom of speech."

To see more on this: LINK

Where does UKIP find these idiots? Or is being an idiot now a required element if you want to represent UKIP?

But perhaps we should not be too harsh on UKIP's corrupt leadership. With UKIP's membership in free fall she was probably the only person they could find to stand in the constituency.

It is interesting to note that UKIP claims to believe in freedom of speech. Are they are having a laugh?

So according to UKIP freedom of speech now extends to harassing the parents of a vanished child? No wonder the UKIP spokesman was too gutless to put their name to such rubbish!

Actually, freedom of speech died in UKIP long ago. You are expected to keep your mouth shut and do as you are told. The leader is always right!

Here are just a few examples:

David Abbott and Eric Edmond were thrown off the NEC after trying to raise concerns about widespread corruption within UKIP.

John West was kicked out of the party after complaining about UKIP’s corrupt MEP selection process.

Roy Hopwood was threatened with expulsion after he complained to Fred McGlade - UKIP NW Regional Organiser - when the odious Paul Nuttall tried to force Hopwood's branch to adopt one of his sycophants as a PPC.

Nikki Sinclaire was banned from standing as a UKIP candidate and denied the right to call herself a UKIP MEP after refusing to sit with fascists in Farage's EFD group.

Hardly the actions of a party committed to freedom of speech!

UKIP: More bad publicity for UKIP

UKIP PPC tells Pearson to get stuffed

Lord Pearson’s policy of not standing against Tory Euro-sceptics was in tatters after Jack Baynes - the UKIP candidate for Wells - refused to stand down and campaign for Tory David Heathcoat-Amory.

Mr Baynes - pictured above - said standing down would be "a betrayal".

Heathcoat-Amory did not seem that bothered:

"It sounds as if UKIP are in their usual shape of muddle and confusion. I don't think it will make a great deal of difference to me".

It that any way to talk about the party that offered to stand down in favour of you? What ingratitude!

Perhaps Farage and Pearson will now realise that doing shady deals with Tory MPs will get you nowhere. The Tories won't thank you for it and your own candidates will just get P****d off!

John West helps David Bannerman get some bad publicity

The scandal involving Agnew, Reeve, Bannerman, Farage and Pearson continues to get publicity.

The Suffolk Free Press - which covers the constituency where Bannerman is standing as a PPC - has also run with the story first featured in The Sunday Times. See: LINK

John West - a former UKIPPER - was quoted in the paper as saying:

“UKIP is campaigning on the anti-sleaze ticket and that is quite ludicrous when you learn its MEPs are employing someone illegally”.

Hardly the sort of publicity Bannerman will welcome just a few weeks before the General Election!

UKIP candidate apologizes for ‘Sod the Lot’ poster

Mike Smith - UKIP PPC for Gloucester - has apologised to voters after refusing to endorse UKIP’s ‘Sod the Lot’ poster:

"Having just seen the latest poster unveiled by the UK Independence Party today, I wish to totally disassociate myself from it.

I regard the language used as completely inappropriate and offensive.

Moreover, I wish to apologise, in advance, to the citizens of Gloucester in case it should appear on our streets.

This poster does not represent the many hard- working members of the UK Independence Party who have many positive messages to shout from the rooftops."

We can confirm that other UKIP candidates are less than happy with the poster. "Offensive" was how one Kent UKIP PPC described it to us.

Yet another own goal for UKIP’s corrupt leadership.

End of quote.

UKIP: Carry on Fooling the Public

The launch of UKIP's manifesto in a tiny Westminster restaurant was a rather lack lustre affair.

Pearson was out of his depth, Bannerman looked bored and the odious Paul Nuttall looked confused.

However, it was amusing to see Pearson and Farage desperately trying to defend UKIP’s economic policies.

UKIP wants to cut taxes AND yet at the same time increase spending on defence, pensions, border police and prisons. So where will the money come from to finance this massive increase in public spending? It can’t all be financed by Britain's current contribution to the EU!

UKIP would also slash 30-40% of all government budgets.

This would result in at least 1.5 million people being made unemployed.

And what is UKIP’s answer to this? You tell us. There is no mention in the manifesto of how exactly Pearson and Farage would deal with such a massive increase in unemployment.

But why are we even bothering to analyse UKIP's joke manifesto? Pearson and Farage are not really serious about achieving power.

UKIP is now just another Tory pressure group.

The journalists who bothered to attend the launch were also unimpressed by UKIP's spin!

From the Guardian:

Ukip's slogan should be 'Carry On Campaigning'

Spirit of Sid James and Finbarr Saunders looms over Ukip's manifesto launch amid 'edgy' double entendres

Ukip's Nigel Farage had promised the party would run "the edgiest campaign in British political history". So edgy he'd even shed his blazer? Only time would show. Arriving at today's manifesto launch, held in the tiny back room of a Westminster restaurant, one had to wonder if Nigel had overplayed his hand.

"He might have done," muttered Ukip's press chief, Gawain Towler. But party workers were giggling admiringly at the official campaign T-shirts.

"I love it when you talk straight to me," ran the insanely risqué slogan of one, while the other bore the legend: "Withdrawal! Before it's too late". Ah, an ejaculation joke. Will this do much to dispel your image as 19th-hole bores?

"Actually," reflected Gawain, "with this lot I don't think of the golf club so much."

The rotary club, then?

"The legion."

It turned out the event was held in the restaurant because it was in the same building as the BBC and Sky's Westminster studios. Ukip was realistic, admitted Gawain. "We can probably make them come three floors downstairs." Alas, a phonecall requesting directions revealed the journey wasn't quite so simple for all concerned. "The party chairman is so much part of political life that he doesn't know where this building is …"

Easily the most brilliant joke in the manifesto is reference to what "a Ukip government" would do. But the document also makes much of "the LibLabCon" – rather recalling those people who honk about ZaNuLiarBore in the mistaken belief that they're being arch – and still refers to Britain in the third person feminine. "She has lost control of her borders." Matron! Ukip also wishes to reinstate "the banking corset". If its campaign struggles in its second act, perhaps they could rush out T-shirts reading: "My other top is a banking corset".

Kicking off the launch proper, the deputy-leader, David Campbell-Bannerman, promised policies "from animal welfare to pubs" – truly, the full gamut of thinking from Y to Z. There will be no cuts with Ukip, who promise to spend an eye-watering 40% more on defence. Prisons are another of their big ideas, as in more people were going to be put in them, which meant more would have to be built, thus creating lots of jobs. The logic was faultless if you didn't think about it.

And so to the leadership. When Farage announced he would be devoting his energies to standing against the speaker, John Bercow, in Buckingham, the party's top job was taken over by former Tory peer Lord Pearson of Rannoch, the sort of patrician dullard you pray not to be seated next to at dinner. He has quite the way with metaphors. Brussels was "a corrupt octopus", and pretty soon "we won't just have its tentacles round us, we'll be in its bowel".

By some presentational cock-up, it fell to his lordship to explain Ukip's eccentric policy of backing Eurosceptic MPs from other parties in some constituencies, often whilst still fielding candidates themselves.

"We're going to actively campaign for Eurosceptics," he declared, before explaining that they were fielding a candidate in Stroud, but that the chap was using his election address to tell people to vote for the Tory candidate. But if not, to vote for him.

"We're going to have billboards saying "Ukip says vote for … whoever it is," rambled Pearson. "Our candidates – where we have them – say: 'If you possibly can, you vote for mostly the Conservative candidate … or if not hold your nose and by all means vote for me …"

"None of these people have actually asked for our help," he explained, unwittingly invoking the old "with friends like these" cliche. Before long, it was on to Ukip's proposed ban of the burqa and niqab in public "and some private" buildings. How were they going to enforce that?

"We haven't said private buildings," countered Pearson.

Well you have. It's in your manifesto. "Have we?" his lordship wondered of his more junior colleagues. Doubtless he'll get round to reading the 15-page document in good time.

Tag-teaming Pearson was the more seasoned media hand Nigel Farage, who has an enduring line in misplaced confidence. "I don't want to be rude about the other parties – that's not my style," he smiled knowingly, in the manner of a man who fondly imagines he has a style other than "affable berk".

Still, he was Churchillian in comparison to some of the other candidates to whom we were introduced. There was Barking hopeful and boxing promoter Frank Maloney, confirming Ukip's commitment to bringing the finest minds to bear on British politics, and a Serbian woman standing in North Kensington (so soon after Ukip's immigration lecture, one didn't like to bring up the ironies). And finally, "our surprise candidate". "Move over Sam Cam, move over Sarah – standing in Kensington is Caroline, Lady Pearson of Rannoch!"

An edgy finale indeed. England expects to see her ladyship in one of the ejaculate T-shirts at her earliest convenience.

And this is what The Times had to say:

Don’t vote for us,’ says UKIP at Alice in Wonderland campaign launch

The UK Independence Party made an unusual appeal yesterday to some of its supporters: “Don’t vote for us”.

There was a slightly Alice in Wonderland feel to the Eurosceptic party’s campaign launch as it entertains hopes of capturing its first Westminster seat.

Lord Pearson of Rannoch, the party leader, began the day by urging some of his own candidates to tell their supporters to vote for someone else.

He wants them to follow the example of Steve Parker, who is standing for UKIP in Stroud, and has produced a leaflet in which he declares: “I ask you to vote for David Drew [the Labour candidate] if possible. He is a committed Eurosceptic, who will continue to fight for our freedom in Parliament and I don’t want to stop him getting there.”

Lord Pearson told The Times: “I hope I will be able to persuade a few of other candidates to do the same. Some of our men are putting the bayonets in the wrong enemy.” UKIP has said that it will not stand against eight candidates, mostly Conservatives, who are in favour of leaving the EU and yesterday he went one step further, urging voters in some constituencies where UKIP is standing to back someone else.

He added: “I don’t think this has ever been done before.” He was speaking as the party launched its first full manifesto, which — as well as withdrawal from the EU — includes pledges to freeze immigration and ban the burka. The confusion continued as Lord Pearson denied that the ban would apply to private buildings before being gently corrected by his policy chief.

In Buckingham, the party’s best hope of a seat, the contest is just as baffling. With the main parties standing aside, Nigel Farage, UKIP’s former leader, is challenging the Speaker, John Bercow. While Mr Bercow is the firm favourite, Ladbrokes is offering 10/3 on Mr Farage.

“We see him as our only hope against John Bercow,” said Sue Moore, a 50-year-old IT sales manager. “It’s expenses; Bercow’s not a good ambassador for Buckingham. He flipped houses.” Ms Moore, who has previously voted Labour, says that only one thing might make her waver in her support for Mr Farage: “I’m very pro-Europe.”

Mr Farage hopes to exploit such oddities. “There’s a lot of confusion about the election here,” he said. “I’m in this campaign to say to people, ‘You can send an earthquake through British politics by toppling the man who is the symbol of the last Parliament’.”

Burning desire for change was not, however, the dominant emotion on the pleasant streets of Buckingham yesterday. Billy Treadwell, the manager of the George Inn in Winslow, said that he would probably vote for Mr Farage “if I’m not too busy”. Other voters scuttled away as UKIP leaflets were proffered.

“Under no circumstances will I vote for him,” said Joy Bungard, a retired civil servant. “John Bercow’s been an absolutely brilliant MP.”

Yet Mr Farage insists he is “in with a chance” of overturning an 18,000 majority, and his name recognition seems to be high, as he makes steady progress on his pledge to visit every pub in the constituency.

At Rosie’s Bar, Bob Cross, the owner, thinks that Mr Farage is talking sense, but is still undecided. His summary, at last, is simple: “In the end, I’ll probably vote for whoever will help me the most.”

UKIP: ELCOM now reviewing complaints against UKIP. Stuart Agnew was advised to resign by colleagues

The dictionary definition of fraud: "deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage."

We can confirm that ELCOM are now ‘reviewing’ the complaints made against UKIP. The Labour Party is just one of the many complainants.

Lord Pearson, Nigel Farage, Stuart Agnew, Peter Reeve and David Bannerman are the subjects of the complaints.

These complaints are based on the report first published in The Sunday Times. See: LINK

You will recall that Pearson and Agnew advised an undercover reporter how to make an illegal donation to the party.

Agnew told the reporter that a person could remain anonymous by channelling funds through an unincorporated association called Global Britain, which was set up by Lord Pearson in 1997.

Electoral Commission rules state unincorporated associations, which do not have to file accounts, can make donations to political parties but the money must not be channelled from an individual who is seeking to remain anonymous.

Even for donations of less than £25,000 the association is still required to disclose the true name of any donor who is using it as a proxy to give money.

Agnew was recorded as saying:

“I've spoken to Nigel Farage and he says at the moment you can put £25,000 into Global Britain and you will remain anonymous."

Agnew suggested that other ways of keeping a potential donor's identity secret included giving money as a gift to another person who then donated it:

“Your mother can make you a loan of £100,000 to buy a house ... and you would then become a donor to the party for £100,000 and your name would go up on the Electoral Commission website.”

When the real donor died, she could state in her will the loan was now a gift. “You are seen to be the donor rather than her,” he added.

Agnew also confirmed that he and David Bannerman are illegally paying Peter Reeve out of their EU staffing allowances:

“I can tell you that Peter is paid partly by me out of my assistance allowance here partly by David Bannerman. He does very little work for us, virtually none. He is working for the party. And that’s strictly illegal.”

Another undercover reporter spoke to Lord Pearson who said the money given to Global Britain would be passed “straight on” to UKIP.

Asked if he could guarantee the donor's name would not come out he said:

“Yes, we did it in the European elections (in 2009). We passed on £80,000 from one person in effect ... and that caused no difficulty at all.”

This donation was made by Patrick Barbour via Global Britain. We can confirm that Mr Barbour was less than amused to discover that UKIP had named him as the donor in question!

UKIP claimed in a press statement that:

"This anonymous donation was at the time perfectly legal and within the guidelines set down by the Electoral Commission. This donation was fully disclosed by Ukip in the second quarter of 2009."

It is interesting to note that ELCOM have no record of UKIP contacting them about this donation.

Here are the facts:

We have Pearson, Farage and Agnew conspiring to break electoral law.

We have flagrant attempts to circumvent the law by advising someone how to remain anonymous.

We have Bannerman, Agnew and Reeve conspiring to misuse EU allowances.

They have been caught gaining money for the party by deception - aka fraud.

It is very interesting to note that UKIP has failed to take ANY action against, or even an investigation into, Agnew and Bannerman, despite publicly admitting that they are illegally using tax payers' money for personal projects. UKIP’s total silence on this issue can only mean that the party condones illegal activity as long as it benefits UKIP.

However, we can confirm that at least two UKIP MEPs in Brussels advised Stuart Agnew to resign following the publication of the report in The Sunday Times. A gloomy Agnew declined to do so.

We are rather surprised at the naivety of the two MEPs in question.

Did they really think that Farage would allow Agnew to fall on his sword? Agnew gained his position as an MEP thanks to Farage and Reeve rigging the selection process. To have permitted Agnew to resign would have seriously undermined Farage and reopened questions about the whole MEP selection process.

Agnew has openly boasted how he bought his way onto the list by making large donations to the party. He also ensured that his friend - John Savory - got to sit on the selection panel. Such is the level of corruption in UKIP.

And what about Bannerman and Reeve? They are as guilty as Agnew. Their positions in UKIP would have become quickly untenable if Agnew had resigned.

UKIP’s leadership are currently waiting on events and praying for a miracle. We wouldn’t advise them to pray for too long. Some prayers are sadly never answered!

UKIP: The staggering hypocrisy of Peter Reeve

"This practice simply must stop. UK taxpayers have been abused for too long. It is time for some straight talking. It is time for real change."

Peter Reeve on fat cat council salaries, Monday, 5th April 2010. Quote taken from the official UKIP website.

The day before this quote was published Peter Reeve was named in The Sunday Times as receiving £50,000 in illegal payments from Stuart Agnew MEP and David Bannerman MEP. See: LINK

The illegal payments were taken out of Agnew and Bannerman's MEP staffing allowances. And where does that money come from? The taxpayer!

So Peter Reeve is quite happy to condemn people for something that he does himself - ripping off the taxpayer. What staggering hypocrisy!

Reeve has now been reported to Elcom and Olaf. He has also been reported to the Standards Committee of his local council.

Do you think that Peter Reeve should resign as a councillor? Do you think that he has brought UKIP into disrepute? Do you think that he is one of UKIP's biggest hypocrites?
