UKIP membership reject Farage's proposal for his MEPs to join a pan-European political party.

The UKIP membership has voted overwhelmingly to reject Nigel Farage's proposal for his MEPs to join a pan-European political party.

Arguments for and against are now academic, and the membership has the right to expect MEPs to abide by their decision.

Nigel Farage, with his ambitions of a career in the EU institutions for him and his closest cronies, would now appear to be totally at odds with the wishes of the membership, and with the party's raison d'etré. He might now consider resigning from the leadership, and move over to make way for somebody who does actually believe in withdrawal from the EU, and who might actually work to that end.

Party Chairman Steve Crowther has admitted in an e-mail that he "mislead" the membership over the possibilities to raise money from membership of a pan-European party. Crowther should do the honourable thing and resign - whether he is incompetent, or he deliberately mislead the party is neither here nor there.

Crowther should go. Likewise Michael "who ate all the pies?" Greaves, Farage's oafish legal adviser, who infamously claimed that UKIP members are too "naive" to understand the issue, should exit the stage.

We watch with interest what happens next. Will Farage accept the wishes of the membership he claims to be "fed up with"? Will Godfrey Bloom remain in his pan-European party? Will Stuart Agnew reject the majority opinion as he has threatened?

Farage humilated again! The Members Say No to Pan-European Parties!

Breaking News! The membership of UKIP reject Farage's desire to turn UKIP into a pan-European party! More news very soon!

UKIP: So will Nigel Farage flush his career down the Water Loo?

UKIP NEC member voices their opinion on Farage's desire to turn UKIP into a Pan-European party

How many UKIPPERS remember that the 15th August was Napoleon Bonaparte's birthday?

How ironic that the 15th of August was also the last chance for UKIPPERS to vote on the issue of UKIP MEPs joining a pan-European party! So will Farage face his Waterloo?

The votes are now being counted and we await the result with interest. UKIPPERS should consider the following facts:

The voting slips were unnumbered and were sent to a private address. Iffy!

Farage had already lost a previous conference debate on pan-European parties. Remember his reaction?

'they have just lost me 1 million Euros over this'. See: LINK

Certain MEPs have already made it clear that they will ignore a 'No Vote' and seek permission from their regional committee to join a PEP. Stuart Agnew is one.

Godfrey Bloom is already on the board of a PEP. See: LINK

Gerard Batten has already backtracked on the issue of PEPs. He now says that he will consider joining one IF there is a 'get out' clause!

A very large number of UKIP activists have said they will resign from the party if the 'Yes' campaign wins. We shall see!

So what if the 'Yes' campaign succeeds?

UKIP becomes pan-European and embraces federalism. Farage and his sycophants buy lifetime tickets on the EU Gravy Train. The core values of the party are abandoned.

And if the vote isn't rigged?

Farage and his parasites are humiliated. The party has wasted thousands of pounds in a pointless vote. The calls for Farage to resign as leader grow louder. Agnew and Farage join a PEP in defiance of the membership. Others follow suit.

This will be the time for certain MEPs to grasp the nettle and reclaim the party from the corrupt elements that have led UKIP into the sewer.

So are you fit for the challenge?

UKIP: You couldn't make it up. Marta demands Liverpool gives back money to the EU!

So Marta finally gets her revenge on the Slippery Liverpool Lover - the odious Paul Nuttall! See: Link

Nice to see that Marta is concerned about cheating "the system out of millions". The EU bureaucrats must be very pleased to see that she is committed to following EU rules and regulations!

And can we point out that Marta was NEVER the EU's Chief Accountant.

Euro Mp warning over Liverpool cruise bid

Hampshire Euro MP: Marta Andreasen

LIVERPOOL could still be breaching Euro state aid rules if the UK Government gives it the go-ahead to muscle in on Southampton’s cruise trade, a Hampshire Euro MP has warned.

Former European Union (EU) chief accountant turned UKIP politician Marta Andreasen, accused Liverpool of trying to “cheat the system out of millions” in its bid to host the start and finish of cruises at its, partly-taxpayer funded terminal.

A consultation is under way on a proposal by Liverpool City Council to repay just £5.3m of the £21m of taxpayer’s cash it received to build the terminal to remove a condition it was used as a port-of-call. It is proposing to repay none of the £9m it received from Europe.

Mrs Andreasen said: “From an EU perspective, I believe the European Commission needs to recoup their money less they be accused of promoting unfair competition and breaching their own state aid rules.”

She added: “The knock-on effect of Liverpool being a start port could be disastrous to Southampton costing it vital revenues and, possibly, jobs and commerce.”

Hampshire business leaders and politicians have demanded a level playing field and the repayment of all taxpayer grants before the ban on “turnaround cruises” is lifted.

Liverpool is already planning a £23m baggage handling facility and vehicular bridge – with £10m of public money going towards the terminal upgrade plans.

Southampton has spent millions in private sector cash strengthening the city’s position as the cruise capital of northern Europe, with about 360 expected visits from cruise ships this year – worth more than £400m to the local economy.

But dock owners ABP has revealed plans for a £30m fifth cruise terminal in Southampton may be delayed or scrapped depending on the result of a consultation.

Liverpool council leader, Joe Anderson, has volunteered to hold peace talks with Southampton.

Southampton port director, Doug Morrison, and council leader, Royston Smith, are preparing a joint approach to fight the plans.

Hampshire MPs, including Chris Huhne and Caroline Nokes, have made written objections.

Shipping minister, Mike Penning, said: “It will be for Liverpool City Council to satisfy the European Commission, if necessary, that having regard to the continuing regional benefits from overall operations at the terminal, no parallel repayment of European funding is required.”

UKIP: Nikki Sinclaire in the Media

From The Mail

Petitioners push MPs to debate quitting EU after gathering enough support to trigger talks

MPs could be forced into an historic vote on Britain's withdrawal from the European Union after campaigners gathered enough supporters to trigger a debate.

A petition demanding a straight vote on whether the UK should stay in or leave the EU has attracted more than 100,000 signatures.

It comes as a new YouGov poll published today reveals for the first time that a majority of British people would vote to leave the EU if there was a referendum.

Forced conversation: MPs could be made to debate withdrawing from the European Union after a petition demanding a straight vote attracted more than 100,000 signatures

It found that some 60 per cent of voters want a referendum on whether Britain should remain a member of the EU.

If there was a vote, 52 per cent would vote to leave, with only 30 per cent preferring to stay in. Of those polled, 15 per cent were undecided and four per cent would not bother to vote.

EU membership costs Britain £48million a day - or £4,912 per household.

The last time the UK held a vote on Britain's withdrawal from the EU was in 1975, when just over 67 per cent of voters chose to stay in the union following a national referendum.

Prime Minister David Cameron has promised that MPs will dedicate House of Commons time to debating any issue which has the support of at least 100,000 people.

The mountain of signatures has been gathered by independent West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire.

MEP: Nikki Sinclaire gathered 100,000 signatures by a mix of pen-and-ink and electronic means

Miss Sinclaire said:
'Clearly the people of Britain want to decide who governs Britain.

'It must be alarming to the government that despite all their assurances on sovereignty and cast iron promises, more and more people have given up on this European project.

'This argument has gone on far too long, we must decide our course once and for all in a binding referendum.'

Miss Sinclaire has gathered 70,000 handwritten signatures as well as 30,000 electronic ones.

Last week, the Government launched a new e-petitions website which allows members of the public to set up their own petitions and sign existing ones.

It has paved the way for MPs to be forced into landmark votes on controversial issues including the death penalty, ending mass migration and legalising cannabis.

Commons leader Sir George Young has warned that MPs cannot ignore the popular groundswell.

But critics warned that the e-petitions would allow the Commons to be hijacked by special interest campaigns and will mean MPs spending precious Parliamentary time on proposals that have little or no chance of becoming law.

Miss Sinclaire fears that the Government will brush off her attempts to force a debate as most of her signatures have been gathered by hand.

However, Sir George has signalled that indicated that a traditional pen-and-ink petition could be lodged with the backbench business committee if it has one or more MPs sponsoring it.

The independent MEP will tell a London press conference today:
'This is an encouraging development and raises the prospect of an early debate on our continued membership of the EU.

'To insist that only an online petition will count would disenfranchise millions of people, particularly the poor and elderly, who do not have an email account or access to a computer.

'The huge response to our campaign, together with the findings of our poll, show that most people want their say.'

MOST VOTERS WANT BRITAIN TO QUIT THE EU, NEW POLL SHOWS

MOST people would vote for Britain to leave the EU in a referendum, an independent poll reveals today.

In the biggest sign yet that public opinion is rallying against the UK’s membership, 52 per cent of voters said they want to leave the European Union.
Only 30 per cent said they wanted to remain in the EU, according to the YouGov poll.

And six out of 10 people want to have the final say on whether we pull out.

The poll compiled for the Campaign for a Referendum, piles further pressure on David Cameron to hold the first referendum on Europe since 1975.

Nikki Sinclaire, who runs the campaign, said: “This is an encouraging development and raises the prospect of an early debate on our continued membership of the EU.

“Almost eight in 10 people want a national debate on the pros and cons of EU membership.”

Only 30 per cent said they wanted to remain in the EU, according to the YouGov poll.

“The huge response to our campaign, together with the findings of our poll, show that most people want their say.”

The Independent MEP, added: “Clearly the people of Britain want to decide who governs Britain. It must be alarming to the Government that despite all their assurances on sovereignty and cast-iron promises, more and more people have given up on this European project. This argument has gone on far too long, we must decide our course once and for all in a binding referendum.”

Analysis shows that EU membership costs Britain £48 million a day, which amounts to £4,912 per household over the last 11 years.

The results of today’s poll adds further weight to the Daily Express petition to force a Commons debate on leaving the EU.

All demands which get at least 100,000 signatures on the Government’s new e-petition site will have to be considered for a debate in Parliament.

Before the official launch of the site, the Daily Express had already gathered 75,000 signatures backing the call for a referendum which we established on our own website. We are pressing the Government to add those names to the official petition on its site, which itself is already approaching the 10,000 mark.

Readers who added their names to our original petition on www.express.co.uk can expect to receive an email in the next few days from the official e-petition site requesting their permission for their names to be added.

Just click on the link you receive by email and your signature will be transferred to the official Government petition.

Joining our campaign will force the country’s politicians to discuss an issue that is gathering momentum as Britain bails out failing eurozone states.

The Riots

Interesting viewpoint on the riots that are tearing Britain apart.

From Rosie's Blog:

Some people really are graduates in 'Master of the Obvious'.

Of all the observations that could be made about the riots, a colleague of mine announced widely, the startling revelation 'Did you know that before the General Election Nick Clegg announced there would be riots'. No further comment required.

Well, if anyone had bothered to listen to the law abiding people in this country, they would find a mass of telepathic civilians with predictions ranging from 'somethings got to give', to 'things can't go on as they are' and so on.

Why? Because people have seen that crime pays, that there are no deterrents through the legal system, that the police have been turned into a uniformed social services, scared to death of acting for fear of the human rights act or some discrimination law or another. There are no morals or beliefs among the rioters - did they check those buildings they were torching to see if anyone was inside? Judging from media footage, this never crossed their tiny little pea shaped minds.

People know that GCSEs at A***** only means the recipient turned up on the day of the exam. They know that the pregnant teenager will be given a property a working family can only dream of. They know that to challenge a group of hoodies could easily mean being stabbed to death and no one will come to their aid. So everyone is at the mercy of the mindless and the downright bad.

So hey, we could all predict that riots or worse would happen. But what next?

Well, Sky news have just been reporting from Enfield. A group of around 50 - 70 men have taken to the streets to support police (although the leader was none too impressed the police protection he had received so far) and stop any further looting/rioting/burning. It will interesting to see if the vigilante method spreads.

However, one thing I've noticed that gives me hope, is that the decent law abiding people of whatever colour and culture in this country, are uniting in fear, anger and disgust at the position we have all been left in by those in power adopting politically correct policies and strategies.

If we stay united and force our politicians to abandon political correctness, then maybe there is hope for the Big Society after all.

Nikki Sinclaire: 100,000 people sign her Petition! Press Conference today! EU Referendum in Sight!

Great news! Nikki has done a fantastic job in getting 100,000 signatures. Cameron will now be forced to hold a debate in Parliament on membership of the EU!

Compare all her hard work as an MEP with Farage's lacklustre performance in Brussels and the UK. Over ten years as an MEP and nothing to show for it. Failed petitions, scandals, corruption and lies. That will be his legacy.

PRESS RELEASE

EU REFERENDUM IN SIGHT AS 100,000 DEMAND A SAY

The Campaign for a Referendum on Britain's EU membership is given a double boost today.

A petition demanding a straight "in or out" vote has now attracted more than 100,000 signatures - which should be enough to force a Commons debate.

The breakthrough is bolstered by a new YouGov poll which reveals a clear majority want ordinary people to have the final say on whether we pull out.

For the first time the YouGov poll shows a majority of people would actually vote to leave the European Union in an referendum.

The mountain of signatures has been collected in a cross-party campaign led by West Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire.

It will pile pressure on the Prime Minister to hold the first referendum on Europe since 1975.

Mr Cameron has pledged to dedicate House of Commons time to any issue which has the support of at least 100,000 people.

While he insists the names must be collected on individually entered electronic petitions, the Commons Leader's office has indicated that a traditional pen-and-ink petition could be lodged with the backbench business committee if it has one or more MPs sponsoring it.

Nikki will tell a London Press conference today: "This is an encouraging development and raises the prospect of an early debate on our continued membership of the EU - Almost eight in ten people want a national debate on the pros and cons of EU membership"

"To insist that only an online petition will count would disenfranchise millions of people, particularly the poor and elderly, who do not have an email account or access to a computer.

"The huge response to our campaign, together with the findings of our poll, show that most people want their say."

Today's poll shows overwhelming support for letting the public decide our future in the EU - and if they got their way they would vote to pull out.

Some 60% of voters want a referendum on whether Britain should remain a member of the EU, according to the YouGov survey commissioned by Nikki's campaign.

If there was a vote, a massive 52% would vote to leave, with only 30% preferring to stay in and 15% undecided and 4% not bothering to vote.

Nikki, an independent MEP, added: "Clearly the people of Britain want to decide who governs Britain. It must be alarming to the government that despite all their assurances on sovereignty and cast iron promises, more and more people have given up on this European project. This argument has gone on far too long, we must decide our course once and for all in a binding referendum"

MPs are already facing demands to debate bring back hanging after 100,000 backed the move in an e-petition.

But Nikki points out that Britain is powerless to restore the death penalty while still in the EU because it would breach the UK's membership conditions by breaching the EU's Fundemental Charter on human rights.

She believes we get the worst of both worlds while inside the EU but outside the eurozone.

"We have one foot in and one foot outside it," she said. "This is detrimental to our interests and to those of the EU, both politically and economically. We need to take a decision as to where our future lies.

"Despite numerous promises, nobody under the age of 54 has ever had a say on Britain's relationship with the EU. This issue needs to be resolved."

EU membership costs Britain £48 million a day - or £4,912 per household over the last 11 years.

But we have signed away power to decide our own future, with 75 per cent of British regulation coming from EU law.

Nikki also pays tribute to the hundreds of people across the country who have helped collate the petition including one gentleman in Dorset who has collected 2,000 signatures. Nikki said "I'm overwhelmed by the level of support and the dedication of these people who truly are an inspiration."
