The European Parliament has voted on a legislative proposal to reduce administrative costs for small businesses. Most British politicians supported this move, including UKIP, who rarely, if ever, vote in favour of anything.
There was one exception, however. One UKIP MEP appears to have deviated from the party line, and gone against the whip by abstaining. Who was it? None other than Nigel Farage himself.
This suggests that the great man was unable to impose his will on his disciples on this occasion.
This common sense proposal, which will be welcomed by small businesses who campaigned for the move, will benefit millions of people who have to live and work in the real world.
Farage, who is looking tired and haggard, might wish to explain to these good people why he alone chose not to help them.
