UKIP: More on Nikki Sinclaire

The fallout following Nikki Sinclaire's removal as a UKIP MEP continues unabated.

From the Birmingham Post:

WEST Midlands MEP Nikki Sinclaire has been expelled from the UK Independence Party after refusing to be part of a multi-national group it has joined in the European Parliament.

Ms Sinclaire has refused to sit with her own party members in European Parliament meetings since mid-January.

She said this is because of the breakdown of her relationship with UKIP leader in Europe Nigel Farage and the “extreme views” of some of UKIP’s political allies in the Europe of Freedom and Democracy group (EFD). Ms Sinclaire insisted she was not quitting the party – but now UKIP’s National Executive Committee has removed the whip, reducing UKIP’s team of MEPs to 12.

A UKIP statement said: “Nikki Sinclaire says that her political views are incompatible with those of some members of the EFD Group in the European parliament, of which the UKIP MEPs form part. She has also proved unable to collaborate adequately with the voluntary party in the UK.

“The national executive committee has therefore removed the whip; Nikki Sinclaire may no longer describe herself as a UKIP MEP, and she may not stand as a UKIP candidate in the forthcoming General Election.

It is interesting to note that Farage has been claiming to members of the press that Nikki has lost the respect and support of UKIPPERS in the West Midlands and beyond. This a blatant lie.

Her working relationship with the membership is excellent. Indeed, she has received a large amount of supportive letters and emails from across the UK. In Brussels she is also widely respected and prior to her expulsion was described by one journalist as "UKIP's hardest working MEP".

So once again Farage is exposed as a liar.

And it is interesting to note that in over 10 years as an MEP our Nigel has NEVER been described by journalists as UKIP's most hardworking MEP!

And what of Lord Pearson? He has gone to ground. We sincerely hope that he is hiding his head in shame!

Gregg Beaman on Nikki Sinclaire and the duplicity of Phil Griffiths.

Gregg Beaman was UKIP's lead MEP candidate in the NW. He resigned in disgust after the odious Nuttall and McManus fabricated complaints against him. This was done in the hope that Gregg would be deselected. See: LINK

Here are his views on Nikki:

While I've been away on my retreat this week poor old Nikki Sinclaire has been further abused and mistreated by Farage and his henchmen. I would hope that UKIP's North West Chairman Phil Griffiths voted against her expulsion now he has sold his soul, sorry, joined the Party's NEC.

You see, Phil was the chap, as North West Chairman, who despised Paul Nuttall so deeply that he even refused to accept a drink from him at the hustings meetings for the NW EU elections list ballots in 2007. Imagine my shock when, in 2008, he was elected to the Party NEC, proposed by Paul Nuttall.

Furthermore, it was Phil Griffiths who, as Chairman of the North West Committee, urged me to stay within UKIP as lead candidate for the Euro elections, rather than walking as I did, but resign from the Party as soon as I was elected to sit as an independent. That was so fundamentally dishonest I was saddened that Phil could even suggest it. But that, sadly, is now par for the course in UKIP it seems. Or perhaps Phil did vote for it, in a rather confused state, believing he was doing what he suggested in 2007! Who knows?

I find it difficult to believe that the never ending crisis that is UKIP, was caused accidentally. I don't accept coincidences, especially in politics, but, 'coincidentally', there is always one man at the heart of every crisis that UKIP stumbles into. That man is Nigel Farage.

I apologise Junius. The hustings were in 2008, Phil Griffiths was elected in 2009.

It must be my age!
